Mascha Visser - Dutch Photographer

I studied Photographic Design at the University of Applied Photography in Amsterdam (Netherlands). I I am a Dutch photographer in Wisconsin.

After 42 years of living in the Netherlands, my husband, our two kids and I relocated to Milwaukee in April 2016. A great opportunity to get out of our comfort zone and learn about a different culture.

Obviously there's a little bit of my Dutch inheritance in every picture I take. Simply because my cultural background shaped the way I see things. My pictures are like the Dutch: tell it like it i

s, pure and show beauty that is already there. Becoming a photographer has been an interesting journey. After getting my Masters Degree at the University of Utrecht, specializing in Television Studies, I started my career working as an editor for television programs. I became extremely aware of the power of the image and how to reach target audiences. With that knowledge and experience I started working as a Marketing Communications consultant. For several marketing campaigns I worked with excellent photographers, while I always had a very clear vision of what the campaigns should look like. That's when I decided I wanted to become a photographer too in order to create the images myself.

This is Elsie. She works at Spaces, a very cool place that offers work spots and offices for small businesses, entrepreneurs and corporate intrapreneurs. A month ago I made headshots there and couldn't be happier with the support and enthusiasm I got from her. Elsie is awesome. And so is Spaces!
Once it is safe again, we are planning a new headshots session that is open to everyone. Not just people that work in Spaces, but anyone that could use a (new) professional photo like Elsies. I'll keep you posted!
