Ok I gotta get something off my chest.

I hear it at almost every single session. A mom watches her toddler sprint across the studio, lick one of my plants, or flop on the floor like a dramatic little starfish & then she turns to me and goes, "oh my gosh I'm so sorry, they're never like this."

You never have to say that to me!!! I've seen it all, I don't judge, & I can work with even the most "feral" kiddos.... so please just bring the kids you've actually got.

I'd so much rather you spend our time hugging, tickling & cracking up with your babies than stressing about whether they're "behaving". I want YOU in these pictures, actually enjoying your family, while I sweat the details & catch the moments you're gonna want on your walls for the next 30+ years!!

Anddddd if you've got a brand new baby at home... newborns are a whole different flavor of unpredictable & I'm just as chill about blowouts and feeding breaks as I am about toddler meltdowns!!

Maryland, I think we need to start seeing more of each other.

I grew up in Annapolis, and although Studio 29 Photography is based in Wisconsin these days, I still photograph families & seniors throughout Maryland. And frankly, I would love an excuse to come back more often.

These senior portraits were taken at Brookside Gardens in Wheaton , Maryland, one of my favorite locations for portraits in Montgomery County. Between the gardens, beautiful green house, rock formations, and ponds it’s exactlyyyyyy the kind of place I love photographing people. 🪴🪴

After nearly 20 years photographing families, seniors & weddings, I know how to find beautiful light, help you get comfortable in front of the camera, and create photographs that you’ll still love decades from now!!

Oh, unbeknownst to me, yesterday was the first day of Fall 🍂

July 29th was our 10th wedding anniversary. So, naturally we went back to our favorite park where we got married Blackwater Falls/Canaan Valley Blackwater Falls & got back in our wedding clothes & made more core memories!

Thank you to my amazing SIL Jessica Farley for getting up early, taking a crash course in photography & snapping these gorgeous family/anniversary photos. They mean the world to me!
