This mom&me session last summer was directed by this 6-year old girl, Amari.

I didn't expect it of course. I was hoping that it'd be a session where I would go through my regular posing workflow.

But I'm glad that it didn't go as planned.

Sweet little Amari owned this photoshoot - told me exactly where to stand and how she wanted to pose by herself and with her mom. And yes we got in some real fun moments between the two of them too - which was my favorite part. But looking back, I'm so proud that she felt comfortable enough to be herself in front of me and shine through in all the pictures! Perhaps, that's my real accomplishment here - to make sure that anyone in front of my camera is able to be their real self.

It's been a minute, but I'm back. Even though it's already the end of February, and this is my first post of 2026 - I have to start by looking back at all the special milestones of 2025. Trying to be less critical of myself, I created this list...I'm so grateful that I got to -
⭐ launch my website! BellissimaMKEPhotography.com
⭐ photograph maternity sessions
⭐ capture family sessions in the spring, summer and fall
⭐ photograph engagement sessions and my first wedding session
⭐ document a graduation ceremony

I've been MIA because I have pondered so hard if I should continue with this journey, especially in this era of AI where we can create family pictures within seconds using AI prompts. Deep down I know that it's not the same. I wouldn't want to create AI holiday pics of my family. I want the real deal.

So here I am. Giving this another go this year. Thank you to everyone who trusted me with their memories. I hope to serve more families this year. 🤍
