This mom&me session last summer was directed by this 6-year old girl, Amari.
I didn't expect it of course. I was hoping that it'd be a session where I would go through my regular posing workflow.
But I'm glad that it didn't go as planned.
Sweet little Amari owned this photoshoot - told me exactly where to stand and how she wanted to pose by herself and with her mom. And yes we got in some real fun moments between the two of them too - which was my favorite part. But looking back, I'm so proud that she felt comfortable enough to be herself in front of me and shine through in all the pictures! Perhaps, that's my real accomplishment here - to make sure that anyone in front of my camera is able to be their real self.
