🌸JULY BIRTH CIRCLE: CELEBRATING 1️⃣ YEAR🌸

We are going to open the circle with sharing any and all birth stories. We will have time to chat about all things birth, motherhood, finding your village and celebrating this sisterhood. You don’t need to have/share a birth story to be in our circle 🤍

☕️ a special tea infusion, hand blended for us by (plus extra to take home!)
🍋 some homemade lavender lemonade
🍓 bring snacks to share if you’d like
🌸 flower crown or arrangement making while we chat
🌿 a cozy yoga studio space with blankets and blocks and bolsters to sit on the floor in a circle

P.S. I would much prefer to celebrate and come together outside in mother nature, but she’s been weird this summer and I don’t want to have to reschedule this circle for weather reasons!

Um motherhood of two is looking good on you 🥹🫶🏼✨

This might be the first time I’ve had a fully outdoors newborn session, I always tell moms it’s best to just stay home and cozy…but this IS their home, their beautiful property with lots of space to run around and sunshine and mature trees. The sweetest little summer babe newborn session and I can’t wait to share more 📷

It’s just all so much more special when I’ve been doing motherhood from the beginning with her, watching our girls grow into big sisters.

🌼JUNE BIRTH CIRCLE: Finding your birth team🌼

Cohosting with Emily✨ a local mom of two! I was on her birth team this past January as her doula and photographer, and now we are close friends.

We are going to open the circle with sharing any and all birth stories. We will have time to share about our birth teams and how important they were and how we found them or ask questions about choosing a birth team! This is a great circle for pregnant moms or women awaiting pregnancy to come ask questions/listen/learn about our local birth options! You don’t need to have/share a birth story to be in our circle 🤍

Been thinking so much about all of the breastfeeding conversations and stories I’ve had with other mothers. And this one little (big?) moment I had with one of my closest friends sticks out so clearly in my memory.

I’m so looking forward to the stories, wisdom, and conversations we are going to share at this next birth circle. I hope you know this community is a space for you to be heard and come to us with whatever you want to share.

I think so many of us are going to feel less alone after this next circle 🤍

The disco ball was the star of the show in this session 😂 not mad about it, love a good disco ball session 🪩

But for real, I love this sweet little fam. One of those “clients” that have turned friends and it’s the greatest ever.

Let’s not forget to mention the matching flower sweaters and mom and baby girl 🌸🥹 I’ll never be over it.

Hi it’s me back there 🤍📷🫶🏼

I loved to sneak a shot of myself during your birth, usually a mirror shot, just to sneak me into the story of your day when you look back. I happened to be supporting Emily in the bathroom, in front of the mirror—so this shot just made so much sense.

I thought about diving into a caption about how I ✨balance✨ the roles of doula + photographer/videographer during a labor and birth. And maybe I’ll make a whole other post about that if it’s of interest. But sometimes it looks like this. In this moment, mom didn’t need my eye contact or hand to hold or even words from me. She had headphones on, comb in hand, and was keeping her head down. She just needed a hand nearby to remind her I was there with her and staying close by. So I was able to keep my cameras on and even take a few shots during these moments.

P.S. still so damn proud of 🥹

This sweet boy just liked having dad’s hand nearby if he had to lay down. And it makes the moment even sweeter in my opinion. 🤍

I always tell parents that I have zero expectations of baby. They run the show. If they’re hungry, stop and feed them. If they’re clingy and need you, ok we won’t lay them down. If we do lay them down and they start to fuss, please do what they need/pick them up. Newborn sessions aren’t on a time clock. There’s usually a lot of stop and start. I’m more interested in capturing the realness of the season instead of a propped up newborn anyways! 🫶🏼

First doula mentoring call of the new year, and per usual it lit me up 🔥 I jotted this note down because sometimes you just hear a sentence and go YES. Those are the simple words I’ve been looking for.

Doula work, Birthwork, serving women, birth circles—it’s just an extension of womanhood. Being in community with other women. Sitting with each other when we are vulnerable and want support. Bringing each other nourishing meals when we are healing.

Women are meant to support each other in this way 🤍 I feel like no matter how much I keep rambling, nothing makes as much sense as the short statement Kallie made during our doula mentoring call tonight. This is all an extension of me.

This “work” I do is not a business, it’s me being a woman. 🌸

Wanting to document your breastfeeding journey with your babe?! 🤍📷

You should. Totally. So much work, so much love, such a fleeting season—some days it feels like breastfeeding will never end…and then before we know it we are shedding tears over the journey coming to an end. I love documenting those early days of breastfeeding at your newborn sessions, because those memories are so vivid looking back—those early days of figuring it out together. But sometimes I think we forget to pause and document when the breastfeeding journey becomes *easy*—when they latch and drink and look at you and unlatch to smile and stick their feet up in the air and grab your nose or hair. Those days are some of the sweetest.

Studio mini sessions are a perfect time to capture some of your breastfeeding journey if you want! Privacy, natural light, no wind or weather to disturb your babe. If you want to do this, just let me know! The waitlist for studio mini sessions is linked my bio, they open for booking in 2 weeks! 🫶🏼
