The emphasis in your portraits should be on you, and not your clothing, in order to produce the most beautiful portraits. Solid colors will result in a more pleasin
g portrait and puts the emphasis back on you. For family portraits I suggest everyone wear similar or complimentary clothing. In general, it is more pleasing to wear long sleeves or 3/4 length sleeves. This helps keep the emphasis on the face.
