Whenever a beautiful mama messages me wanting to schedule session away from her home state on the West Coast and make time for photos somewhere completely different, she takes advantage of it, and I absolutely love that.
When we first started planning their session, we talked about so many different locations. There were so many possibilities, but then they told me they live in the desert and wanted something they simply don’t get to see at home; Lush greens and trees.
I immediately knew where I wanted to take them.
So, we headed to a local waterfall and started our little adventure down the trail. There was something so fun about watching them take in the landscape around them. The deeper we hiked, the greener it became, and eventually we reached the waterfall. Then the session just unfolded. Exploring, throwing rocks, climbing rocks and the list goes on. This is one of my favorite things about photographing families...sometimes the best photographs happen when you stop worrying about the photographs and simply let the adventure happen.
