Lot's happening around town, the water tower work seems to be going quicker than I would have thought. New businesses are opening and "old" businesses are adding to the city's charm....and I love the white sycamore bark contrasted with the bright green leaves of late spring and a crystal blue sky.

It's spring time and lots happening around town.
Greater Milford Area Historical Society at the Promont Museum hosted two events in the past week.

On Saturday they hosted CASA's "Once Upon a Hero" day

And on Wednesday evening, an open mic at the gazebo featuring a number of local musicians
Meanwhile work continues on the new Wallace water tower

Question time: One of the things all the instructors at the photography workshop hammer on:
Light & Shadow - how much, what direction, what qualities and so on.

Yesterday in the morning, I took some photos of an iris in my garden that really illustrate some of their points. The sun would hit the iris directly and then be hidden by a cloud. I took the photos in both conditions. Which do you like? Sunny direct? or soft and diffused?

I was down in Great Smoky Mountain National Park for a long weekend of photography workshopping, apparently they started up again on work for the new Wallace water tower while I was gone.

I have been getting out and about lately. This past weekend, instead of Easter Egg Hunts, I went to the "No Kings" protest at 5 Points Landing. I took a sign, but I also took my camera looking for signs I liked. These were some of my favorites.

Question: I keep revisiting this tree on Wallace up the hill from Garfield. It reminds me of a Phoenix and/or a Thunde...

Question: I keep revisiting this tree on Wallace up the hill from Garfield. It reminds me of a Phoenix and/or a Thunderbird, but I can't just get it right. Do you ever revisit a photographic subject trying to "get it right"? (I can't believe I suddenly have all sorts of questions)

Question: A follow up my earlier question about favorite time of year or season... Are there certain subjects you return to every time that "season" rolls around?

For me, when a few nice weather days hit in late winter or early spring, you can bet I'll be taking photos of the daffodils, crocus and Lenten rose (Helleborus). It doesn't matter that I've taken very similar photos every year for 10+ years. I can't help myself. Here's some from the past few days.
