I’m seriously obsessed with using the light wall for newborn sessions. 🤍 I feel like every time I use it, I find something new I love about it!

I’m still experimenting with different styling elements and figuring out what works best in the space, so I can keep adding even more variety to sessions.

And one unexpected bonus—without all of my lighting equipment taking up space, there’s so much more room for families to just relax. These sweet big sisters had their own little spot to play with their dolls and hang out while we focused on baby.

I love when the studio can feel less like a “photo shoot” and more like a comfortable space for everyone to settle in and be themselves.

I absolutely loved putting this sweet fairytale cake smash together! ✨

Mom sent me an inspiration photos, and we worked together to bring her vision to life using both my traditional flash setup and the light wall. I love when parents come to me with an idea and we can collaborate to make it work in my studio!

Everything came together so beautifully — sweet, whimsical, and just a little bit magical. 🤍✨ Such a special way to celebrate ONE!

“Wait…is that a real window?” 🤍

That’s one of the first things people ask when they walk into my studio now—and it makes me so happy because that’s exactly how I wanted my new light wall to feel.

The soft light gives newborn sessions such a beautiful, natural look—light and airy, but still warm and cozy. It’s quickly become one of my favorite spots in the studio, especially for those sweet, simple newborn portraits.

And this little one looked pretty perfect there. 🤍

After rescheduling this engagement session more times than I can count thanks to this VERY rainy Virginia summer, we finally got the perfect evening! 🤍

And it was absolutely worth the wait. This spot was the perfect backdrop for capturing such a sweet, fun couple and celebrating this exciting season of their lives together. 💍✨

Sometimes the best sessions are the ones we have to wait a little longer for. 🤍

I’ve had so many studio sessions lately, and I’ve been loving every opportunity to use my new light wall. 🤍 I just LOVE how it photographs—so bright, soft, and gives my studio space such a relaxed feel.

I first met this family for their maternity session, so it was so fun getting to see them again for their newborn session and meeting their newest little addition! And we realized they live in the same neighborhood as I do, which made for a super quick drive to the studio. 🥰

I love getting to see families again and capture each new chapter as their family grows. 🤍

This one gave me a whole new appreciation for wedding photographers! 🤍

What started as a simple elopement turned into a little more of an adventure with some last-minute changes, two locations, and a full afternoon of beautiful moments to capture. We started at Agecroft for their first look and portraits, then headed to a second location where they exchanged their vows surrounded by their closest family.

And despite all the moving pieces, it came together beautifully. The ceremony was intimate and incredibly sweet, the bride looked absolutely STUNNING, and I loved getting to capture not only the two of them, but their kids and family as part of such a special day.

I photograph families and newborns every day, but weddings are a whole different ballgame—so seriously, hats off to all of you wedding photographers out there! 🤍

So grateful they trusted me to capture this day for them. Congratulations to the newlyweds! 🥂

Cake smash sessions are so much fun, especially when we can get two completely different looks in one session! 🎂✨

For this one, we used the flash setup with balloons for a fun birthday look, then switched over to the light wall for something softer and more natural. I love being able to give families a mix of both!
Then what an adorable egg free cake from Kara's Confections LLC!

🎈 And now available for kids’ birthday sessions: if a balloon bouquet is part of your decor it’s yours to take home afterward!

Our goal for this session was to capture some really special grandparent photos for an upcoming retirement… but we got so much more!

Having the session at Grandma and Grandpa’s house was perfect—the grandkids could run around, take breaks inside, grab a little ice cream, and Grandpa could even get started on dinner! 😂 And thank goodness for grandpas and dads who know exactly how to get the kids laughing when we need it!

Such a relaxed, fun evening with this sweet family, and I loved getting to see them again!

This is probably the largest newborn gallery I’ve ever delivered!

One question I get all the time is, “Can grandparents be included?” The answer is absolutely!

One set of grandparents was visiting during their newborn session, and when the other set came to town the following week, we added a mini session so everyone could be part of these memories.

Between both sets of grandparents, family photos, sibling snuggles, individual baby portraits, and all the sweet in-between moments, this gallery ended up being absolutely huge—but every single image tells part of their story.

Your newborn session should reflect your family. Whether that means including grandparents, siblings, pets, or adding a second mini session so everyone can be there, I’m always happy to help create a session that captures the people who matter most during this special season.
