Good morning everyone! Hope everyone has a great day! Walked outside this morning and saw that one of our sunflowers has decided that it is time to show their face. They are almost 8 feet tall and getting some rather large heads to them.

Often a subject that gets brought up is printing photos. While yes you can go anywhere nowadays and get prints is it really your best option? While it is cheap to go to Walmart or your local drug store and get prints is the quality there? Are they snapshots you want printed or are they those photos you really want to look great and last a lifetime? We always tell our clients that it is their choice where they get the prints from but we can not guarantee how they will turn out going through an outside source. If they do choose to go through us we work with a Pro Lab to insure the highest quality prints.

Most photographers that go through a professional lab have done a color calibration test with the lab they use to make sure prints will be accurate.

Here are some things to consider about the difference in printing from both your average 1 hour places and a professional lab.

Walmart, Target, Local Drug store

Pros:
Cheap prints
1 hour or quicker turn around
Great for day to day snapshots

Cons:
Any store employee might be working the machine even if they know nothing about printing.
Cheap lower grade photo paper
Not professionally color corrected
Not checked for accuracy or proofed
Most will fade faster
Little or no selection for finishes
No guarantee on accuracy or color
Can be dull and lack color richness
