You might have seen the photo I posted of the leopard cub and his mother taking down an impala. While they were busy with that, the other cub decided chasing the baboons in the tree above was far more interesting!

He kept up the game of tag for quite a while, while we watched with bated breath. Baboons can be dangerous for young leopards and things can turn quickly.

But eventually he decided to come down and wait his turn to partake in the meal.

A wild dog pup looks up eagerly, waiting for a share of the meal.

For African wild dogs, feeding the pups is a team effort. After a hunt, adults return to the den and regurgitate the kill for the puppies.

The entire pack helps raise and protect the pups. Cooperation is the key to the pups survival in a harsh world.

A day to celebrate and understand just how important wildlife is. Without wildlife, our planet would just not be.

We need them. We need them but we act like we don’t.

This is their planet just as much as it is ours. So while we continue to encroach on their homes building subdivisions and cutting down forests, let’s not forget, this is their home.

It’s never too late to remember.
It’s never too late to understand.
It’s never too late to bring more awareness.
