Chasing Volcanoes

Determined to conquer the summit of every volcano, Mauna Loa finally surrendered beneath our feet after we reached its 13,681 ft (4,170 m) summit.

Hawai‘i is home to five volcanoes, and Mauna Loa stands as the second highest among them. The climb feels endless — thin air, relentless winds, and miles of hardened lava beneath every step.

Any trace of vegetation was erased by the recent lava flows, leaving behind a black mantle stretching to the horizon like the remains of a world forged by fire.

Above the clouds, surrounded by silence and volcanic stone, you understand that some summits are not conquered… they are earned.

Persiguiendo Volcanes

The heartbeat of Hawaiʻi is not only heard… it is danced.
Hula is more than movement — it is memory, genealogy, storytelling, and a living connection to the land, the ocean, and the ancestors. Every gesture carries meaning. Every chant carries history.

To witness traditional hula is to witness Hawaiʻi speaking through movement. 🌺

They say the island is a canoe.
Out here, surrounded by the vast ocean, you begin to understand what that really means. We are all in the same vessel, moving forward together, guided by respect, balance, and connection.

In Hawai‘i, unity is not just a concept… it’s survival, it’s culture, it’s aloha.

Different paths, same canoe.

Let’s paddle together.

RespectTheLand

Caminos distintos, misma canoa.

Rememos juntos.

Hawaiʻi is not only famous for its breathtaking landscapes, volcanoes, rainforests, and pristine beaches, it is also one of the best places in the world to experience the night sky.

Far from city lights, the islands offer incredibly dark skies where thousands of stars become visible to the naked eye. Constellations, distant galaxies, and colorful nebulae appear above the Pacific, creating a truly unforgettable connection with the universe.

In Hawaiʻi, the beauty of nature doesn’t end at sunset, it simply moves from the land to the stars. .tours

Yesterday, I witnessed one of the largest recorded eruptions at the Kilauea volcano crater. From the summit of Mauna Kea, located 80 miles away in a straight line, the white plume rising from the crater was clearly visible.

Waikoloa Beach, a place where time stands still, is more than just stunning sunsets and crystal-clear waters. It’s a land that has witnessed centuries of Hawaiian history. From the ancient fishponds, once used to nurture the ocean’s bounty, to the royal paths where chiefs once walked, every step here echoes the stories of the past. The petroglyphs carved into the lava rock speak of the deep connection the Hawaiian people have with this land. This is Waikoloa, not just a paradise, but a living testament to the strength and spirit of a culture that thrives in harmony with nature.

Step into the Earth’s story at the Thurston Lava Tube, deep inside Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park.
Lava tubes are natural tunnels formed when the surface of a lava flow cools and hardens while molten lava continues to flow beneath. Once the flow stops, it leaves behind a hollow, cave-like tube. This one, called Nāhuku, is an incredible example of the powerful volcanic forces that shaped the Big Island.
Walking through this ancient passage feels like stepping into the heart of a volcano. A must-see on any adventure to Hawai‘i!

When you visit ʻAkaka Falls, the name evokes that “split” or “cleft” in the cliff face through which the waterfall plunges, while also suggesting the pure, clear flow of the water.
