Whether she’s spending balmy mornings taking in panoramic vistas from the balcony of her condo in Key Biscayne or cruising with her better half aboard their yacht, Midas Touched, Laine Shakerdge finds inspiration everywhere she goes.
Before arriving in South Florida, she built a successful 40-year career in commercial real estate, investing in shopping centers, apartment buildings, single-family homes, and hard-money lending.
Alongside her business leadership, she has been committed to community service, serving on multiple nonprofit boards, including Big Brothers Big Sisters and Network For Teaching epreneurship. “I enjoy contributing my business acumen to teaching young people to identify their own superpowers and build confidence,” she says.
An accomplished photographer, she recently published a coffee table book titled The Colors of Key Biscayne showcasing her photographs of dramatic seascapes and sun-kissed horizons in and around the island, with 100% of the proceeds donated to the Key Bi cayne Community Foundation.
