I had imagined my birthday completely different.

Something quiet, perhaps. A spa. Dinner alone with my husband. A few hours in which no one needed anything from me.

Instead, there I was at Disney, between the end of the August heat, with my three littles all 4 and under, and somehow I kept thinking: I would not trade this for anything. Not a chance.

Their hands are still so small in mine. Their joy still arrives without hesitation. Their imagination so big. Their jaw drops at alllllll the magic. Because you know, the castle is really a castle! Mickey is really Mickey. Magic is suddenly really magic, but for me as their mom (and dad).

I watched them all day and felt that strange ache of motherhood ... wanting a moment to last even as it is already passing. It's like my new version of FOMO. And I am hyper aware of it.

They were so happy. We were all so happy.

And I thought to myself, what a beautiful thing... to grow another year older inside this life we have made. To be surrounded by the people, most of whom are quite small, who have managed to fill me so completely.

Maybe this was what I wanted all along.

Day one, Magic Kingdom. 🤍

The only direction my client gave me was classic and timeless.

Audrey Hepburn was the inspiration.

That was it.

We kept everything simple. Beautiful light. Clean lines. Nothing overly styled or complicated. Because when the person in front of the camera is the focus, you really don't need much else.

I think we get so caught up in what’s trending that we forget photographs are supposed to outlive the trend.

So if you’re planning a session and want photos that still feel beautiful years from now, my advice is simple: wear something that feels like you, keep the styling clean, and bring me inspiration based on how you want the photos to feel rather than how you want to look.

I think we nailed it!

My little babies begin their HIGHPOINT ACADEMY journey.

How lucky are we?!

I feel safe about this big change for them.
Change is never easy for our little ones. And harder on us. But it is a positive change.

They will walk the same hallways I did. Make life long friends the way we did (class of 96). They will eat arroz con picadillo and black beans. I am just overly excited about them going to this beautiful school, where they will be happy and safe and learning with some of my favorite people.

This lovely duo traveled from Kansas to Miami for a surprise proposal. 💍🤍

Ms. Regine surprised her fiancée with the proposal of a lifetime. Just when we thought the moment was over, our new fiancée Tesha pulled out a red ring box and proposed right back!

None of us knew that was coming! Not even the proposal planner. We were all left speechless and there were some happy tears!!! ❤️

The first 48 hours pass in a fog. The photos give them back.

The hospital bracelet. The messy hair. The tired face that was really love all along. That was me, holding my baby girl, Alma... and years later, the fog lifts every time I open that gallery.

One quiet hour, in the real light of the room. No posing. No perfection.

You will never get those hours back. Pero siempre puedes volver a mirar. 🤍
