Dorine may appear, if you met her in your local grocery check-out lane, as a pleasant, happy member of the community just doing her ordinary shopping for the week. Her story is quite different, while she is all of that, she is an American success story in every respect. Most importantly, she understands this and is so grateful for her opportunity and what she has achieved. Just a short 8 years ago Dorine came to American soil without any English and not much more as we would know things. Fast forward to this day, she just graduated from NOVA Southeastern University with a Medical degree. Her husband, her baby, and all her family and friends, many located now in California, gave witness to this special occasion with the joy and happiness easily shown. I congratulate her and all the support I’m sure she had making it to this day. All the best wishes to Dorine!

Fort Lauderdale Memorial Day Omelette. I'm a photographer so I take pictures; I love cooking and eating so this picture is not surprising. However this day is a different script. How easily we can forget to be thankful for even a simple meal. Its important remembering our fallen heroes. Being a veteran, and touched personally with my fallen hero early in life, I believe these heroes, on a day like today, hope we hold our head up high, have a big smile, celebrate life, and truly appreciate what we have as Americans because that's why they served.

Seldom a day is missed seeing the sunrise from the Fort Lauderdale coastline. It’s one of the many pleasures living by the ocean, and with such weather we’ve experienced through much of 2018, mostly without rain, well up till the last few weeks, sunrises have been great. But now, gees, right into the holiday and it continues to rain. This picture was taken at the end of March after weeks, months of great sunrises. On this morning the sun and water looked unusually majestic, the glow against the clouds and glittering water opposing in the primary colors re-assures us God is the master artist indeed. You really must rise early to feel these moments and truly know, but here is a glimpse to entice! Let's hope mothernature shines on us soon again.
