As a small business owner, I tried Yelp Ads to grow my business. Unfortunately, I didn’t get any leads, so I stopped. In January, a Yelp agent called, claiming my old campaign was “falsely advertised” and promised to help me set up a better one if I restarted my subscription.

I agreed, but he never called back. Weeks later, I found out my ads were running without being properly set up, and now I owe $253 for ads I didn’t even use.

This experience has been frustrating and feels unfair. Big companies like Yelp should support small businesses, not take advantage of them. Sharing this to raise awareness—small business owners, be careful!
