"Solid 7*": Ex-Metroliner cab car no. 9635 leads a Keystone Service train with every passenger car in Amtrak's new Phase VII scheme. This is the first example of a solid Phase VII passenger set in revenue service that this photographer has seen since Phase VII began being applied to passenger cars in March 2025. (* - The lone exception in the consist was the trailing ACS-64 locomotive. To date, Amtrak has not unveiled an ACS-64 in Phase VII.)

One of my photos of MTA Metro-North Railroad’s America 250 Heritage Unit on its first day of revenue service on Saturday, May 2, 2026.
