I see a lot of couples searching for documentary photographers and other requesting photographers who are good at posing.

What if I told you that a good wedding photographer knows how to do both? They know when to insert themselves when someone needs to take the reins (you think 100+ family and friends organize themselves for group photos? 🙃), know how to adjust you for the most flattering light and angles and know how to capture the details you spent so much time deciding on.

They also know when to step back and observe. Sit on the wall. Disappear. Capture little moments you might not see in the hustle of the day.

A good photographer know how to be bossy when needed and when it’s time to shut up :)

I'll be replaying this day over and over in my head for a while now. Grace and Zach created a day that was perfectly them. After their sealing at the St George Temple, they celebrated with a ring ceremony and luncheon at . After the ceremony, they surprised their guests with a ride on the carousel across the street! They returned for lunch and cake cutting. G+V did their own twist on cake cutting and blew out candles on their cake before cutting into it. They then gave each guest custom cupcakes with a candle for everyone to make a wish for the couple. 🎂 The reception was held in Grace’s grandpa's yard. He gave train rides (yes TRAIN RIDES) to guests all evening while everyone enjoyed the photobus, secret underground caves (you read it right haha), s’mores and AMAZING food! G+V kicked the dancing off with a custom cake piñata. All of their guests continued to enjoy their evening of swing dancing lessons. G+Z were then pulled in the Love Train (after a small technical difficulty) through sparklers as they rode off into their happily ever after. Grace and Zach, your day was as warm, fun and vibrant as you are ❤️🚂💕

Lauren & Justin part ✌🏻
This was such a milestone capture for me. Early in my career, I felt down. It felt nearly impossible to become successful in such a competitive field. I had also recently heard that I shouldn’t pursue photography because I didn’t have a degree in it, which really hurt for sooo many different reasons.
Lauren took me to a hike in Zion National Park where we laughed (A LOT) and chatted about life. I told her about how I was feeling down about my career choice and she repeatedly encouraged me to jump in head first. She was a big reason I kept going.
So it felt like a canon event to capture the elopement of the friend who told me that it would be worth it ❤️

Their elopement was perfect. They were surrounded by their immediate family and everyone laughed and cried as they said their vows under the Saguaros. Justin is so tender and it made my heart swell to see someone love her so fully. Their life is sure to be full of laughter, adventure and a whole lot of Diet Coke 🥤
