“Canyon Stormy Point”
I recently received some encouraging feedback from fellow photographers on this piece from my portfolio, so I decided it was time to share it here — and on my Etsy site — for the first time.
The original image is in color and already dramatic, but I wanted to explore how it would translate in black and white. The monochrome treatment brings out the canyon’s depth, the storm’s intensity, and the textures that often get overshadowed by color.
For those curious about the artistic choices: I selected this composition because the foreground rock detail naturally leads the eye into the canyon and toward the approaching monsoon storm. That storm adds mood, scale, and character to a landscape that’s already magnificent on its own.
Hope you enjoy this interpretation.

Some places never stop calling you back, and for me, Point Loma is one of them. I’ve photographed these cliffs for years, but every visit feels like a new conversation — the tide shifting, the light changing, the rock revealing something different each time.
This week I released a new piece from the tidepool area, a stretch of coastline where the Pacific meets layered stone that’s been shaped for centuries. What drew me in wasn’t just the waves or the color — it was the repeating patterns in the rock, the way the water traces those lines and brings the whole scene to life. It’s a reminder of how much beauty sits right in our own backyard if we slow down long enough to see it.
I posted the new work on my website, Etsy, and FAA, and I’m grateful for the early response. The last seven days brought over a thousand views to the site, which tells me people are connecting with these coastal studies in a meaningful way. That’s the part that keeps me going — knowing that these moments resonate beyond the lens.
Thanks to everyone who continues to follow along, comment, and support the work. It means more than you know. Onward.

"Sunburst and Sails" my latest "maritime abstract" added to my portfolio. If someone asked me what the "artist" saw in this composition, I would have to say, there’s something about tall‑ship rigging that feels both architectural and alive, the geometry, the tension of the lines, the sweep of the sails, and the way the sun threads itself through the rigging. The starburst wasn’t an accident; it was the heartbeat of the scene which adds to the dynamics of the composition. Bottom line, it looked really cool to me....😀 and I like historic nature of the "tall ships". Hope you like it too!

“Painted by Time – Arizona’s Grand Canyon” This was photographed from the canyon’s south rim during one of the many monsoons the canyon experiences in the summer. With moments of shifting light and gathering clouds, this image captures the true grandeur of Arizona’s Grand Canyon. The layered rock formations—etched by millions of years of wind and water—glow during a moment the sun breaks through the clouds, bringing out the reds and ochres beneath a sky heavy with drama.
Foreground pine trees cling to the edge, a quiet testament to resilience in a landscape shaped by erosion and time. This piece invites viewers to pause, reflect, and feel the weight of geologic memory.
Beyond its geological grandeur, the Grand Canyon holds a quiet spiritual power—an ancient stillness that speaks to something deeper in all of us. For me, photographing this place isn’t just about capturing light and stone; it’s about honoring the silence, the scale, and the sense of timeless presence that so many visitors feel when standing at its edge. This image is part of that journey—an invitation to pause, reflect, and reconnect with the vastness of the natural world.

"Colorado Relic" - Captured on a quiet farm in Loma, Colorado, this abandoned flatbed truck stands as a weathered relic of post‑war American craftsmanship. Its rounded fenders, vertical grille, and wooden bed echo the utilitarian design of 1940s Ford work trucks—machines built for resilience, long days, and unforgiving landscapes.
I photographed this truck exactly as I found it, sun‑bleached and stoic against the open Colorado plains. The image was then post‑processed to resemble an old pencil drawing, emphasizing the textures, lines, and timeless character of the vehicle. The scene becomes a moment suspended in history—an homage to rural grit and the quiet dignity of machines left behind.

This was a series I recently completed to reflect the Battle of Midway display, part of the USS Midway Museum in San Diego dedicated to those who fought and sacrificed their lives and the naval power brought to bear in the conflict. Though the Vought F4U Corsair was not part of the conflict, it represents the newer more formidable aircraft designed to assist the American war heroes to victory. As the artist/photographer, I elected to make the photos in black and white to develop a moody introspective feeling of the aircraft in reverence to the flyers and crew.
