From last friday's tornado in Bossier Louisiana.
We pulled the google street view of the homes that were destroyed by the EF-2 tornado late friday night early saturday morning. we have also pulled a few screenshots from the drone flight from saturday morning as well a google earth satellite view to show how devastating severe weather can be..
A weather radio can help alert you when danger could be approaching! cell phones are great but sometimes the alerts can get caught up in cell networks or some crazy IT problem sometimes can delay the warning or even your phones power save function can interfere with the alerts coming through.
Having a NOAA Weather Alert Radio is a great device that you can easily hook up in your home and it's only job is to keep you safe and informed !!
Don't forget that when these alerts come out there is 4 vital pieces of info they will give you and they will give it to you in the form of Cardinal directions North, South, East, West
1- What is going on
2- Where it is
3- Where it is headed
4- Est. Time when it will reach locations
The "Where" is will normally be the names of roads, town and villages, names of schools, names of hospitals, main highways and interests. its a great idea to not only know what street, road or highway you live on. its also a very good idea to learn what roads are around you so you can understand more clearly where it is located and what direction it is headed.
Severe weather doesn't happen everyday but when it does come if you know these things you can handle it calmly and with much more confidence.
