Day #2 of my annual Fall Foliage Photo Excursion of 2024 with Alan David Brunelle and another friend of mine. The day gave us everything, wind a little reain, cloudy skies and sunshine as we traversed some of our favorite spots in NH.

Wow, it's been a long time, huh? Real life obligations and a medical setback have really cut into my shooting time the last 6 months or so. I DID have the opportunity to take my annual Fall Foliage Photography Excursions back in October, but fell behind in my processing. Day #1 included my solo trip through Vermont, beginning at 5am with an unexpected capture of the Aurora Borealis and then a tour through farm country. Sadly, due to the behaviors of others last year, a number of favorite farms were off limits to non-residents this year...so my goal was to find other properties that highlight the Autumn rural aesthetic I like to shoot. Here are my favorite captures of the day.

The Aurora 5/11/24 - Stewartstown, NH. What a fun night! A friend and I headed up to Whitefield, NH for night #2 of the Aurora after missing the better night #1. Nothing was visible there due to thick clouds, so an executive decision was made at midnight...head 1.5 hours more North! We arrived in Stewartstown, NH to a better view of the Northern sky, but the same clouds. Then the words of Jane Kelley ran through my head. During an Aurora photo trip a few years ago at Mt. Chocorua she said "We may have to wait for hours for the conditions to be right." So we waited and almost an hour later, the clouds started breaking up. We could see some color and knew we had something. The camera did the rest.
