bella, where the hell have you been loca?👋🏽
august apparently decided we needed plot development.
our family was displaced after the storms and spent 13 days without power. we finally got it back three days ago and are HOME.
first: thank you.
to everyone who checked on us, offered help, offered us somewhere to stay, asked about our family or simply gave us some grace, I will never forget it.
and to my clients: thank you for being patient as hell with me.
there are galleries waiting. emails waiting. messages waiting. things have taken longer than I would ever normally be comfortable with.
I’m home, I’m back at my desk, and I’m getting s**t DONE.
now for the plot twist.
before photography, I had a whole career. years in HR, then TV + media, and eventually I took a chance on this little photography thing.
and somehow it became a whole career.
JM photo has given me weddings, proposals, families, babies, travel, wildly creative ideas and some of the coolest people I’ve ever gotten to know.
and now I’m doing both. (diva up✨)
three days a week, I’m back downtown Chicago working in TV + media.
I missed it. I like the hustle. I like having somewhere to be. And apparently I have zero interest in choosing one version of myself when I can have both.
SO. WHAT DOES THAT MEAN FOR JM?
Monday–Wednesday: 9-5 and 5-9
work + editing/admin
Thursday: shoot days
******Friday–Sunday: currently booked solid through November
I have one remaining September weekend that will be opened for fall minis, and available October weekends will be reserved for fall minis. 🍂
And the calendar ahead???
weddings. destination proposals. engagements. families. travel. a whole lot of people in love.
There is some REALLY good shtuff coming.
I’m tired. I’m catching up. My house has electricity again. My baby is back in school. I have coworkers again. My camera is basically attached to my hand.
and I’m really f*cking excited.
