Photo Group #1 of 9 Grow Wild Trail Run - Northland Arboretum
I had the honor of photographing the Inaugural Event as member of the Brainerd FocalPoint Photography Club. Before the official start I headed up the trail. I could not believe how many participants there were in the ½ Marathon. They were in tight groups when they passed, but I shot what I could. When these dedicated athletes passed I continued walking.

The 10K would start in 30 minutes so I could go further into the woods. I found a pretty spot and waited. They passed me with (mostly smiles) and were on their way.

More walking brought me to a spot where I set up camp for the next few hours. I teased and encouraged the racers while getting fun images of as many as I could. I was mean - my selected spot was where they were rounding a corner and climbing another hill...

I am so proud of all the participants and look forward to next year..

#2 Grow Wild Trail Run - Northland Arboretum

I had the honor of photographing the Inaugural Event as member of the Brainerd FocalPoint Photography Club. Before the official start I headed up the trail. A day of exploring on the North Shore started off with a very unexpected experience. Imagine pulling up to Palisade Head and seeing rock climbers in action. What a rush. I took a few shots while laying on my belly and slithering to the edge. My head did extend over the edge a bit, but the camera went further. I didn’t stay long but I definitely will the next time I come across them.
