Meet Marcus. 🩵
A few days ago, while I was out taking down the “lost cat” posters after finding Jim (who was hiding behind a drawer the entire time), I found this guy instead.
Marcus walked right up to me, demanded attention, accepted food immediately, and basically made the decision to come home with me himself by letting me pick him up and take him home in the car.
Today I took him to the vet.
The not-so-great news: he’s underweight, appears dehydrated, and hasn’t really been grooming himself and while he was chipped, the info had never been updated from the shelter that probably got him neutered and initially adopted out.
The good news: he tested negative for FIV and feline leukemia. We’re waiting on a few more test results over the next day or two to learn more. And he’s clearly a love bug that just wants pets, cuddles and treats.
For now he’s safe, fed, indoors, and getting monitored.
Welcome to the page, Marcus. I had other plans for this week.
(And yes, this means I apparently still have a problem saying no to cats.)
