This precious girl! I was lucky enough to take her sister’s newborn photos and now hers. I’m loving this new trend of wearing an outfit for the whole newborn session. It’s so cute!
I have a ridiculous backlog of photos I want to share. Fingers crossed I can stay on task and post them. ☺️

Meridian Idaho Cake Smash Photos

I love that cake smash photos can be simple or as extravagant as you want. This is an example of a more involved session while my previous post is something more simple. Both are equally as beautiful! It just depends on what fits your style and vision for your baby’s cake smash.

Let’s chat about cake smash sessions first a minute. I wrote a blogpost yesterday about a new trend I’m seeing with babies but wanted to post here.
🧁Babies are not loving cakes with lots of sugary frosting. They try it once and won’t eat it or at worst they start gagging and getting sick. Once they get to the cake they are typically fine. In some cases they are so turned off from the frosting they won’t try the cake.
🧁 This is completely new to me! I personally think it’s because most moms are waiting to give their babies sugar. I’m totally supportive of however you decide to introduce foods and sugar with your baby. It’s just something am noticing. I thought I would give a few suggestions if you are concerned about the sugar for your baby for their cake smash.
🧁 ask for a mostly naked cake. Cutting down on the amount of frosting makes a big difference.
🧁use whipped cream for frosting instead of traditional frosting.
🧁choose a completely different food if you want! I’ve had parents do donuts, fruit, and various other items that they know their baby loves.
🧁what other ideas do you all have?

I rarely get to use the color orange in a newborn session for a little girl. It was so fun and fit her perfectly. I love that she gave us the sweetest little smile.
