Throwback to May 2023… I think 🤣🤣.. there are so many sessions I’ve never shared but the other day I found myself sitting right next to this beautiful girl at the wedding of one of my daughter’s best friends from high school … and I thought to myself I really need to post that gorgeous engagement session especially because it was done right at this time of year… but then I thought of how much work it would be to go back and find her gallery and then decide which ones out of the approximately 200 images I delivered In their final gallery and I almost gave up people but then I remembered the Pep talk I gave to my son not 2 hours ago and I thought to myself .. come on Carrie … show up on your own dang instagram feed for crying out loud!

High school is hard.my last baby is in the thick of it . I mean it was hard for me and now it’s just a whole new level. But when we step away to photograph your senior session, none of that matters.

What matters is you. Who you are right now. What’s inside you. Who you’re becoming.

Your senior photos should capture your soul, your light, and this exact moment in your story—so one day you can look back and remember the very best past of this time in your life.

Seniors who are already booked with me for this spring , be thinking about what kind of vibe you want to create with your images and we’ll go out and make it happen. If you haven’t booked yet now is the time!

I’d like to publicly thank the weather this year . This could possibly be the most spectacular fall I’ve ever experienced as a person and as a a photographer. I’ve taken a few more nights off this year to enjoy it and immediately regretted when the weather is gorgeous and the light sublime … I just want to shoot ! I’ll remember this next year though I can’t imagine we’ll have a chain of 60 degree nights in November again and tomorrow is another beautiful night ! Thankfully I’m shooting some of my favorites so the weather will not go to waste ! Now let’s all pray that next week will be just as beautiful and the rain that is forecasted will magically disappear ! I’ve seen that happen before and I’m counting on it ! If you want to get on my schedule .. there is still time and we will work around the weather !

We interrupt our regularly scheduled programming of pretty much NEVER posting to bring you this beautiful soul. I made it to editing her session tonight and memories flooded back to me from last year at this time. My Naomi had made the JV Volleyball team as a freshman and knew no one on the team. She was scared and really wanted to play on the sophomore team with her friends. There was an odd number of girls and so Naomi was left out of warm ups. In comes this girl, she was a junior and much older and more experienced than Naomi. It didn’t matter. She made sure Naomi always had a friend and made a th*****me to include her in warmups. She made the whole season for Naomi. I can’t tell you how disappointed I was to hear that the coach at the high school didn’t give Julia a spot to play her last year on Varsity. I have felt sad about it for months. The other night as I was looking through my camera at her beautiful face I realized something. … This girl’s impact for good upon others and light and love she spreads in the world goes so far beyond hitting a ball over a net. At the end of the day that doesn’t even matter. Naomi and I love you Julia. You are a gift to everyone who knows you.
