What is a Blue Ribbon school?

This is a federal education award in which schools are nominated through the Kansas State Department of Education using state assessment and accountability data. Schools must fall into one of two categories: exemplary high performing school or exemplary achievement gap-closing school. They have to show strong, consistent student achievement data on state assessments, high performance across all students, not just select groups, or demonstrate significant progress in closing achievement gaps for groups such as low-income students, students with disabilities, English learners, or students from different racial/ethnic backgrounds. This progress must be sustained over a period of several years.

Only THREE Kansas elementary schools received this honor in 2025, with our very own Jefferson West Elementary being one of them!

This is such a bright spot for our community and I'm honored I've been able to have a front row seat to the excitement this year!

8 days. 150 sessions. 320 kids who got to visit with Santa. It's a crazy, chaotic time, but it's also so rewarding. This year's Team Blake toy haul may be record setting! And so many of my clients sent their toy donation directly to Team Blake, so this image doesn't even represent everything. 🤯

My favorite part about assisting with Blake's annual toy drive is listening to the kids tell me what these toys are for. It is such a valuable lesson you all are teaching. A lesson in gratitude, service, and generosity. Thank you to everyone who not only brought a toy, but also taught their children this lesson. Because of YOU, so many boys and girls (and their parents and care-givers) in our local hospitals will get a moment of cheer during this holiday season. Thank you, thank you, thank you. 🧡🧡🧡

This year's santa sessions have come and gone. 🥹 We had an amazing few weeks with Santa Ken and are already excited for next year! The backdrop is already ordered, believe it or not! Keep an eye on this page around Labor Day, 2026! The week after Labor Day is when sessions are usually released. Last year's clients will hear from me first and get their choice of session, then anything that's left will be shared here and on Instagram!

Thank you to everyone who came to visit Santa and I. Santa says that it's like getting a visit from all of his grandkids once a year! ❤

Believe it or not, this is our first and only cancellation this year due to sick kids! That is a record and absolutely mind-blowing!
