A little bit of what I was up to this past year. I started off by going back out to Cozumel in April, spent a couple days on Madeline island with friends, did some kayaking and MTN biking, took some trips up north and more. This also ended up being the first year recap video that was over 50% shot on my phone.

While I was in Big Sky, Montana last month, I put the drone up to get some quick sunset shots before a rain storm, ended up getting caught in the rain and as I was about to land, this gorgeous rainbow appeared out of nowhere. I decided to keep the drone in the air to capture a few shots of it, then switched out the drone with my camera to capture a few more photos.

Last August I was able to capture the aurora for the first time and a few weeks ago I had to opportunity to capture them again. This time however was even more incredible. Me and Kody rushed north of town after the Aurora app said there was over a 50% chance of them being visible which is the highest we've ever seen it. The sky started lighting up just after we got there and a few minutes later they had completely surrounded us with green and purple colors pulsing in the sky. We spent the next 2+ hours capturing as much as possible while still spending a few minutes taking in the breathtaking sights. The aurora kept on dancing the whole time we were out and got even better as time went on and the clouds began to disappear. It was truly one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen.

Last fall I did my first ever senior photoshoot for my brother and I definitely learned a good amount. Throughout the shoot I was struggling with getting even lighting and skin tones which meant spending a lot more time in Photoshop doing retouching. For future shoots the plan is to either pick up an external flash or get a battery for my main video light. I also got more experience with posing people, doing cloud back-ups during editing and a few other things.

Back in August me and my family stayed at a cabin near Hayward Wi for a long weekend. One of the days ended up being cold and rainy so we decided to spend it in Duluth. While we were in the city, I met up with my friend Baylee Cannon who moved out there and he showed me some hidden spots around the area. A few months ago I bought a Godox LED tube and hadn't really used it much. Fast forward to a couple weeks ago, me and Kody Otto were bored one night and decided to take the LED tube with on a quick shoot. Here's a bit of what we were able to create with it.

Ever since I got into photography around 5 years ago, photographing the Aurora has been on my list of things to capture and Sunday night I finally had the opportunity to do exactly that. This past weekend there was a crazy solar storm going on and photographers all around the Midwest were shooting the northern lights so me and my friend Kody were keeping our eyes on the Aurora app all Sunday. With clear skies and the Aurora app going crazy that evening, we tossed our gear in the car, headed north of town and set up next to Airtec sports. A few minutes later the faint glow of northern lights appeared in the sky and we began shooting long exposures as they grew brighter. I instantly got goosebumps when the first couple photos popped up on my camera display. Both of us shot as much as we could over the next 5-10 minutes until they slowly disappeared and we headed home to edit. Now to try and capture reflection shots of the aurora over a lake sometime.

Some more sunrise and sunset photos that I captured while exploring the Copper Mountain ski resort in Colorado when I was staying there this past July. These are also the last few photos I'm uploading from the trip. Overall I wished I would've shot a little more out in Colorado but I still managed to get some decent photos.
