Week 29: Distortion

No special equipment was used nor was the bumblebee harmed in the taking of this photo. That said I did do some editing and found a really cool filter in Affinity Photo called "mirror" that I used to create this effect. I also adjusted the contrast, highlights, shadows and vibrance, which I think works really well for this weeks challenge.

I put in the comments the original image, or as I like to call it the "before the edit" or BTE for short.

Have a great week everyone.

Week 28: In the center
Wow it's been way too long and this challenge seems like a nice one to pop back in.. or as the tiny ant is saying .. hi I'm still here. 🤗

This white crocus is the first flower to bloom this season in front of the Youth Center. It is quite fitting that it's the only flower to have bloomed and is white at that. You may not know but the color white represents many things such as purity, new beginnings and minimalism.

Week 15: Red
While having lunch with my girlfriend...I was looking over the menu at this local breakfast place and noticed they had cinnamon french toast stuffed with creme cheese and topped with strawberries...I love french toast and then you top it with strawberries..yum :) ...plus it didn't hurt that it got me a photo for this weeks challenge too. Hmmm...maybe every challenge should involve food...what do you all think? :)

Week 14: What is it?!
This one seemed fitting and I personally liked the colors. To shoot this image I did attach some extension tubes to be able to get in closer otherwise a few simple edits and it was done.

So let me know in the comments what you think this is.... and if you liked the image....I do appreciate all the comments I receive.... :)

Jesus is alive!

Matthew 28:6 NLT
[6] He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead, just as he said would happen. Come, see where his body was lying.

Week 13 - High Key
Spring has officially started and while where I live there is still potential for snow and chilly temps, the water down at the bay has started to warm up along with the air and thus the ice has started to break up forming these huge mounds of ice close to the shoreline. I would venture some of the mountains of ice chunks are as high as 10-15 feet and some of the blocks of ice can be quite large themselves - maybe about 2 feet thick and 3-4 wide....all guesses..the point is they are huge.

I set my camera on high key effects, took a few shots around the park - this park is not where the lighthouse is located but rather you can still see it off the distance from the bay. I then made a few edits. This is a fun composition cause it gives the appearance of the ice being really high.

Week 12: Low Key
Just a couple weeks ago (Week 10) I used my Sea Turtle for the chaos challenge and figured some of you might want to have a better idea of just how cute this sea turtle is soooooo I used him as my model again for this weeks challenge...sorry no bodyscape....NOT SORRY ;)

Not much else to say other than for taking this shot - I used the "low key" setting on my Nikon D3500 camera and just took a bunch of shots at different angles and pointing a light at it from different heights and directions and decided on this shot and then made a few adjusts and boom...simple :)
