This is a comment that was made by someone that Brooks and I met many years ago in Tijuana, while trying to save his life and immediately the two of us knew, that he was a man of true character, honor, and integrity…
The comment is in response to trying to find out the truth, it’s hard, whether you listen to Fox, CNN, MSNBC, it’s hard to find the truth
But somewhere in the middle?
Lies the truth

“Neutral sources probably don't exist. And, nearly every journalist has some bias. But, any independent journalist without paid sponsorships are a good start.
In addition, I look for transparency regarding sources and the way they present a story. I can more easily verify what they report, for myself. I also think it's important to get multiple perspectives from different sources and make your own judgement, objectively. But, if one journalist can articulate different perspectives, that would be ideal. Also, making corrections when discovered is important, too. It's inevitable, in today's world. Most big news agencies will never admit misinformation in reporting, no matter who is responsible for it, especially when it fits their narrative. That's what's misleading and why it's critical to check different sources and work it out in your own head.
My point is simply to not just buy into the most popular idea. People avoid what they don't want to hear and are lazy and irresponsible to a fault. It's rampant in our culture today. I'd also argue that many are almost solely reliant on social media for news. If one hasn't figured out that social media is the most biased ideology there is, well...
The strange thing is is that it seems a lot of these ideals I look for are mostly found rooted in conservative principles. While I am an Independent, I'd have to admit that the common sense that I exercise in my own process tends to make conservatives look more favorable, especially when it comes to factual news reporting. And, I'm not referring to FOX, just so you know.” ~ Tim Olsen
