Mermaid of the North. A fisherman from Nigg saw a mermaid and captured her and hid her tail. She became his wife and had his children, but one day she saw her tail hidden in a shed and she took it back out to sea. The man begged her to return but she refused, so every day the man and his children would visit her at the beach and she would bring them fresh fish to eat.
