With a love for both the breathtaking countryside and the bustling city, capturing a story just about anywhere is rewarding for Lauren Miles. As a wedding photographer, she documents what is real—authenticity revealed as beautiful art. Growing up in the small town of Charlottesville, Virginia, Lauren developed a strong sense of intimacy and honesty early on. A town with rich history and appreciati
on for art certainly helped implant an eye for design. This, and being surrounded by a family of artists and musicians. Some of Lauren’s favorite memories include experimenting with her grandfather’s vintage cameras—one of which would be gifted to her years later. Curiosity grew into immense passion, earning her an Arts degree from George Mason University. The lens truly spoke to her in 2010, when she began her professional photography career in Washington D.C., where she still loves to shoot. Recently moving back to Charlottesville with her husband, Lauren is grateful for the flexibility of shooting traditional Charlottesville weddings, while still being able to visit D.C. for engagement photo sessions, D.C. When she’s not attached to her favorite camera, a 1960 Rolleiflex, she’s traveling to exotic destinations or spending summers beach-bumming on Nantucket. More commonly, Lauren can be found exploring Charlottesville, embracing the company of her husband and family.
