Family photo day with six kids under seven.
Otherwise known as “a special kind of madness I keep willingly signing up for.”

It went exactly how you think:

One kid is whining.
Another is yelling “CHEEEEEESE” nonstop like he’s trying to summon a dairy demon.
One refuses to look at me for reasons known only to their tiny soul.
Another is suddenly acting like being placed three inches to the left is a personal attack.
Two of them have forgotten the English language entirely.
Someone is crying.
Someone is sticky.
Someone is trying to climb something they should NOT be climbing.
Someone is missing a shoe.
And somehow there is wrestling happening in the background of every single shot.

My husband and I are both standing there like two exhausted camp counselors who did NOT sign up for this field trip.
I repeated myself so many times I’m hoarse and they still acted like they couldn’t hear a word I said.

We tried bribery. We tried threats. We tried pretending this was fun.
Nothing worked… but I did end up with 980 photos of pure chaos to sort through.

But guess what?
After approximately one million head swaps, questionable editing choices, and a couple of emotional support snacks…
I think we actually managed to get a few keepers.

Would any of my photographer friends be interested in a lot of fabric fine-art backdrops? Mostly Intuition and Babydream brands.

I’ve recently started painting my own backdrops and investing in canvas, so I never reach for these anymore. They’re wonderful though and store amazingly since they fold up. Most of my studio work up until a few months ago was shot using these.

I’d love to avoid shipping if possible 😂

Feathers, leather, and a hint of chaos—just the way I like it.

Krys absolutely crushed this set and was down for everything I threw at her. We experimented with my new lights, tried a dozen wild ideas, and ended up with some seriously fun results.

Had the opportunity in February to attend a creative event in Texas hosted by the amazing Schneiders at an amazing antique store. It was so fun and I have so many absolutely amazing gems from that day that I edit whenever I need a break from my current projects. I loved this set and the old items behind her but it really took away from the hair and dress. Some may say it’s over edited but I think I love it.

What do y’all think?

I have always loved the strange stories behind the Mothman legend with eerie wings in the night and glowing red eyes in the dark. I wanted to give it my own modern twist for spooky season 🦇✨
