Margaret Rogers | Two Lips Floral and Carly Witt Events understood and executed beautifully what a backyard garden wedding should be. Rich colors, whimsical arrangements and a whole lotta love made this the most STUNNING setup.

The night before Mallory and Nelson’s wedding. Delicious food (bless y’all Adele's ), flowers that were as beautiful as Mallory, speeches that made me tear up (classic) and deep joy. These two are so loved.

I have this quote on the homepage of my website and it’s one of my favorites for a reason. It’s the perfect answer to what it means to be a documentary-style photographer.

Though “documentary style photographer” is a phrase I frequently dub myself as, I haven’t quite figured it out. Being a documentary style photographer doesn’t mean I never pose subjects, or move things out of the way, or direct the scene. It means using every aspect of the day to tell the story of your marriage. The art of observing—the joyful, the heavy, the poignant.
