I am so proud of this kid. I've been trying to come up with the right words, but I still don't have them. We embarked on the college journey not knowing what to expect, and taking turns we didn't see coming. He handled it all in stride, nailing all his auditions, even when he was stressed. Now that it's over, I will only ever look back on it with fondness. We got to travel and spend time together. We got to laugh and learn together. I feel that I have really learned who he is, but most of all, I feel that HE has really learned who he is.
After 9 auditions, he was accepted into every school and dance program he applied to. He earned over $800,000 in scholarships, including two that were full-tuition. Thanks to one of those full-tuition scholarships, we are able to send him 1200 miles away to Boston for a 3-year BFA program in Commercial Dance. He ended up falling in love with Boston, the school, and the program. It's the perfect fit for him!
Alex, I know I keep saying how proud of you I am, but you will never know how much. I am going to miss you like crazy, but I am so excited for this next chapter in your life! You are going to do great things and be a STAR!
Don't you worry, you'll find yourself. Follow your heart, and nothing else. You can do this, oh, baby, if you try. All that I want for you, my son, is to be satisfied.
I love you so much.
