I am excited to present for the Professional Photographers of Nebraska on the topic of "Art Principles For Profit" this November!

Borrowing from the world of Fine Art, I have distilled concepts that transform not just how we create as portrait artists, but how we create more value for our clients in the process.

This will be equal parts education, inspiration and implementation, from the convenience of your computer screen.

If you are serious about upping your game in the age of AI, or simply want to earn more so that you can create more, this is a must-see class.

Betsy, installed. This portrait becomes the anchor piece within her space. We selected this image of Betsy, a lover of all things artistic, for the central element in her parlor because of its unmistakeable presence. It stood out among a variety of strong images as a study in beautiful contrasts: strength and delicacy, calm and fierceness and vulnerability, all in balance. And of course, her captivating gaze…

The MŪSE Portrait Experience is created for women who want more than a pretty pic of themselves It is an opportunity to unlock your fierceness, tenderness, strength, intelligence, magnetism — whatever lives in you that stays hidden — and see yourself with greater clarity.

You do not need to know how to pose.
You do not need to feel confident.
You only need to be open to seeing yourself differently.

If something in Betsy’s portraits makes you wonder what your own MŪSE experience could reveal, DM me with the word 'muse'. I’d love to send you more information.

The MŪSE Luxury Portrait Experience for woman is so much more than what you may happen to look like on a given day. Listen as Bridgett -- my beautiful client and brave cancer survivor -- reacts to receiving her Art Monograph.

If you are curious about the MŪSE Artist Project, simply comment "muse" and I'll be happy to send you more details.

Arlene’s reaction after her MŪSE portrait session says more than I ever could.

She came in a little nervous, unsure of what to expect —
and left with images that felt different from anything
she had experienced before.

That is what MŪSE is built for:
meaningful portraits,
and an experience where you are
guided, cared for, and really seen.

If this sparks an interest in you, reply with "𝗺𝘂𝘀𝗲" in the comments and I'll send you details.

When Kyndal and I sat together and discussed her session, I learned that she had worked for well over a decade to pay for Wally. During that time, she also worked to overcome a debilitating health issue. Through her extreme drive and commitment to her goals, she now enjoys a deep relationship with her equine partner. This portrait is partly about the culmination of many years of struggle and focus, a celebration of having arrived.

But it is so much more than that. Kyndal is so much more. I expected to be greeted with a hard-nosed, get-it-done energy from her. Instead, I felt like I stepped into an idyllic Maxfield Parish painting, with a quiet brightness like the early morning sky. Kyndal's energy is so peaceful and positive. Despite her petite frame and slender build, she handles Wally with uncanny grace.

This portrait came from the very end of our session, where I thought we were done, and I was just observing Kyndal settling and thanking Wally for his cooperation. I saw something crystalizing in front of me, quietly asked her to just turn toward me, made a tiny tweak to stance, and viola! 𝘐𝘯 𝘚𝘺𝘯𝘤 was born.

It was Kyndal who told me that horses will actually sync their heartbeats to the heart of their riders. That one idea framed the message behind this portrait beautifully, where the simple tones of dress and coat, hair and mane, skin and leather gently shine and all else falls away.

Tucson will go down in history as one of my most unforgettable trips with my fellow Camera Craftsmen of America.

Being inducted into CCA is one of those things I’m not sure I have fully processed yet. I knew I was stepping into a group with an extraordinary history and an extraordinary level of artistry, but what I could not have fully understood until being there was the heart of it.

This is a family.

A wildly talented, deeply generous, wonderfully funny, incredibly welcoming family of artists, educators, image makers, leaders, mentors, and genuinely good people. From the first conversation, I felt less like I was being added to an organization and more like I was being welcomed into a room where the conversation had already been going on for generations — and someone simply pulled out a chair and said, “Come sit with us.”

That kind of welcome is rare. And I do not take it lightly.

A very special thank you to Gregory Daniel and William Branson III for believing in me, and introducing me to CCA.

I am honored, grateful, and genuinely thrilled to now be part of this 120-year-old legacy. Even more, I’m excited for the friendships, the conversations, the growth, the laughter, and the years ahead with this remarkable group of people.

To everyone who made me feel so at home: thank you. My heart is very full.

Don’t wait until you “become someone” to be captured as you already are.

The confidence,
the style,
the uniqueness you already possess.

That deserves to be seen.

Sometimes love is quiet. Steady. Close enough to become shelter.

A portrait should not only show what you look like together.
It should reveal what it feels like to be loved by you.
