I think any landscape/wildlife/nature photographer always has the ONE shot that they know they want before the camera is even purchased. Today, after over a year of visiting my 'secret spot', I finally got it. I have seen bald eagles fly overhead around this location so many times. Today, on a rainy, dreary, gray day (which eagles seem to love by the way!), there he was, perched so beautifully. I stood watching him for the longest time. I always get overtaken by their beauty and majestic presence. Incredible day for this photographer, for sure!

Most beautiful colors I think I've seen on a goat (and check out those eyes!) . Such a gentle soul too. Loved my visit...

Today, a couple friends from the local photography club and I went to visit a farm animal sanctuary. It is a 30-acre sanctuary that rescues animals from abuse/neglect and gives them wide open spaces to thrive. They even had rescued feral pigs who had an area of woods to play in to help them feel more at ease. I loved my visit and can't wait to return. After a busy night yesterday with the first art show I've submitted to, I was up bright an early again this morning. More practice! These roseate spoonbills, great egrets, and wood storks were VERY active this morning. The cloudy morning made this challenging, but I managed to get some shots out of it. These are the results from the first half of this morning spent St. Augustine Alligator Farm Zoological Park

Out of all the nesting egrets at the rookery today I couldn't stop watching these two. The cooperation to build their nest together was so neat to watch. No squibbles or squabbles. Just focus on what needed to be done. Soon that will be strong enough to lay eggs and raise baby egrets. Amazing what can be done when we work together.
