While our normal after-school schedule was cut short to accommodate our student's participation in Forest Grove Middle School's annual Fall Festival, we filled the gap with an awesome day spent with Kevin Holzapfel (Mr. H) and a number of his welding students who are seeking certification through the Performance Based Preparatory Academy school in Fort Pierce! To prove that both days were filled with activities and introductions that will no doubt lead to a whole new level of collaboration, expansion, and game changing events that are about to take place, I've combined a few pics taken from both days to showcase just how close we are to bringing a number of Dreams within our never-ending pipeline of great ideas to a full-blown reality.
The first few pics are of our budding Sales and Marketing Team working diligently on a few targeted presentations we'd like to make with like-minded organizations (and celebrities) that we feel are a mutual fit for our respective projects and causes. From there you can see a couple of random pics that show kids from our 3D Print Team working through tutorials from Fusion360 that will someday earn them a certification in their field of interest as well as few pictures that I had to take of picture takers from our own Photography Team planning for next month's community event at Causeway Cove Marina and preparing for photoshoots they've been commissioned to cover for Forest Grove's home volleyball game and yesterday's Fall Festival!
And then there are a few very special pictures that we had to take of our very first coffee cart being unpacked and brought to life by a dedicated group of students (and future Barista's) who are all-in on setting up shop for The American Dream Cafe to begin selling our Brand of coffee and other fundraising merchandise designed to self-fund our current program and cover costs related to our future expansion which the next set of pictures should clearly show is obvious and imminent.
Before I get into the next series of pictures, I wanted to give a very special thanks to our All-Star Champion Teacher and business partner, Brian Tygesson, for going above and beyond once again through his personal purchase of not only our first of many coffee carts to come, but 3 professional grade coffee makers, an espresso machine, and of course a whole new order of our own Branded coffee, mugs, and eco-friendly biodegradable single use cups to get us started! He truly has been a blessing to have met and worked with over the last 6 years of this pilot program for which myself and a couple of hundred students that have been positively impacted by his dedication and generosity shown over the years are eternally grateful for.
And to prove even further that the sparks are still flying from our time spent at the Treasure Coast Manufacturers Association's Showcase and BBQ, take a look at the awesome tour and time spent with Mr. H and future welders within his program who are ALL-IN on applying their newly learned trade skills to help develop our very own Brand of Safety Stations that are a huge component of our planned Safe and Green Marina Network!!! It was not only an honor to earn the approval from an entirely new set of students based on the merit of the product, but it was way cooler to hear their thoughts about the bigger picture and main purpose behind our youth-led and community-based cause.
As you can see from a couple of chicken scratched notes that I got to write on the interactive screen during my presentation, I was able to stretch my legs a bit and make the case that we are not only using ideas within our pipeline as a mechanism to creative as many positive opportunities for youth like them and as many JOBS, JOBS, JOBS as possible for the greater community at-large should such ideas take off on the grand scale we believe is possible, we're creating an entirely new pathway to bring such ideas to market that is designed to capture a piece of the current pie of ideas being processed AND capture ALL OF THE IDEAS that are not being processed before dying inside the head of the Dreamer who couldn't get the help they needed before dying themselves!
As always, there's far more that we'll be sharing soon as we prepare for next month's Pick, Paddle, and Play "Beach Jam" put on by Stabilize Revitalize Fort Pierce Inc. and for the next round of conversations that are surely going to come from Mr. H and other teachers involved in St. Lucie County's Career and Technical Education program which he wants to bring their mad skills and superpowers into our collaborative project as well, but I'll leave it here for now and hope that even Stevie Wonder can see just how close we are to turning years' worth of talk and aspirations into a very real and tangible set of Dreams come true:) J
