A little mix of Portra 400, Ilford HP5 and digital 🎞️

Those newborn days can feel hazy and overwhelming sometimes. Having newborn photos taken can often feel like another stressful to-do on your already long list of to-dos. But I can promise you this, I’ve never met someone who regrets having photos of their little one during this precious time ❤️

Sharing big news ❤️ we are welcoming our sweet double rainbow baby 🌈🌈 in the fall! So so grateful. And I turned 35 yesterday, so cheers to being ‘advanced maternal age’ 😉

With AI on the rise I find myself drawn more and more towards film. It feels so much more tangible and pairs so beautifully with newborn sessions. The softer focus, the beautiful colors and the way that it feels just so slightly aged. Probably because we’re so used to our phones capturing things with everything in frame in focus. It softens the edges enough so that when we look at it we can sense the feeling of what it was like in the moment, rather than our eyes focusing on tiny details that might steal our attention.

I’ve had more and more families express interest in film during their sessions, which makes me so excited!

My girls are getting older and it has been so fun watching them really start to play together and bond without me being the one to orchestrate the activities. The early days/months/years of parenting are so special, but so is this chapter right here ❤️

It feels like the world is crumbling. It feels so silly to post online about my work when there is so much going on. Hence my absence on here for a bit. I’ve also been working through some health challenges within my family, so it has been quite easy to put aside this little corner of the internet. But I’m ready to come back on here and share little bits of my work.

The world is chaotic, but families are still pursuing joy. Babies are born and parents still want to document this precious time. There is still so much good in the world and I am lucky enough to be witnessing it and documenting it. I am so grateful that what I get to provide women and families with are photos that will be cherished memories someday. Photos that are printed and put into albums or photo boxes, and pulled out someday in the future when their children are grown and out of the house. What a gift ❤️

Coming out of my holiday, non-posting cave 🙋🏻‍♀️ I hope you had a wonderful holiday season and have mostly recovered from whatever illnesses you and/or your kids passed around to each other. My household is in that season of life where it feels like someone is always sick. Looking forward to gaining 53 minutes of sunlight in the next month and hopefully more time spent outdoors ❤️
