I get to work with the most amazing women entrepreneurs and founders.

And I say that all the time because I mean it every time.

Someone once told me that I’m only as good as my clients are.

I think about that often.

And when they do the little things like tag me in a post, send a referral, leave a five star review, come back to the studio or send me an email saying how much they love their photos….

It means more than they know.

Thank you. For trusting me with your brand. For showing up. For letting me be a small part of what you’re building.

Keep shining and I can’t wait to see you back in the studio.

When I first viewed this space, there was only one window and a second window was created for me.

After taking the leap and settling in…

I made a decision that I wasn’t going to invest in anything else.

I was going to use this space and make it work.

And so I did.

Fast forward and I eventually moved into a new space (the one you see today).

But I brought that same decision with me.

Use what you have. Make it work. Grow from there.

What happened next is something I didn’t expect.

The style I became known for — bright, airy, lifestyle — wasn’t something I planned. It came from deciding to work with what was right in front of me.

I think about this a lot when I see the pull toward the next thing….the shiny objects.

The new lens, the new camera body, the new piece of equipment that’s going to be the thing that changes everything.

Sometimes it is. Most of the time, it isn’t.

If you’re in a season of working with less than you wish you had — whether that’s space, equipment, resources, or time…

Some of your best work is going to come from exactly what you have right now.

Not in spite of the limitation. Because of it.

This summer, I’m looking forward to spending time in my garden, exploring, my yearly ferry-ride to Martha’s Vineyard, celebrating a milestone birthday, and making memories with the people I love most.

I’m also making space for the simple things.

Flowers. Sunsets. Ice cream and conversations. Slowing down just a little bit.

Here’s to a beautiful summer ahead.💛

What are you looking forward to most this season?

You might not know this about me, but I lived in Japan for two years and graduated high school there. Shout out to my ZAHS family, Class of ‘94💛

And after more than 30 years, I finally made it back.

What I expected to be an incredible vacation turned out to be so much more.

It felt like revisiting a chapter of my life that helped shape who I am today.

Living in another country as a teenager expanded my view of the world and planted seeds that I’m still growing from all these years later. For that, I’ll always be grateful.

Over the course of our trip, we walked more than 80,000 steps, explored beautiful cities, ate amazing food, learned more about Japan’s rich history thanks to our wonderful tour guide, and created memories I’ll treasure forever.

It was truly more than I could have imagined.

I’m still recovering from the jet lag, but I wouldn’t trade the experience for anything. It was one of the most meaningful trips I’ve ever taken. I already hope we can go back someday and next time with our entire family.

Here are a few favorite moments from our adventure.🇯🇵

Reels are in. Reels are out. Carousels are back. Post at 9am. No, post at 6pm. Go live. Don’t go live. Add trending audio. Never mind...things are changing again.

And yet here we are. Still showing up.

Because the algorithm was never really the point.

The point is the woman who stops scrolling because something you posted made her feel seen. The point is the client who found you six months ago and finally just sent the DM. The point is showing up consistently enough that when she’s ready... you’re already there.

The algorithm changes. You keep going anyway.

That’s the work.

Drop a 💛 if you’re still here showing up regardless.

Standing in your closet wondering what to wear for your brand photoshoot?

Start here first and save this post.

Before you buy a single thing, here are three things worth thinking through first...

✨ Start with your brand. What’s the overall vibe you want to create? The clothes come after the clarity.
✨ Think about where you’re showing up. Is it client meetings, networking events, speaking engagements, social media, Zoom calls?
✨ Shop your closet first. You likely already own more great options than you realize. Then fill in the gaps with a few intentional pieces.

A little preparation goes a long way.

Save this for your next brand photoshoot✨

A few years ago stepped into the studio for her first shoot💕

At the time, she was building something new.

I remember interviewing her for my YouTube channel shortly after her brand photoshoot and asked if she had a plan when she took the leap to start her business.

The answer wasn’t a detailed business roadmap. What she did have was years of experience, an understanding of how she could help people and a willingness to take the next step.

Fast forward...

Today, she helps women experts, entrepreneurs, and storytellers turn their brilliance into books by developing their path to publication and building the platform to get their message in front of the people who need it most.

And her recent photoshoot felt a little like coming full circle🩷

During her first session, we incorporated stacks of books from authors she admired. This time, she walked into the studio carrying stacks of books written by her clients.

Book after book after book.

Each one representing someone she helped bring their message into the world💛

Can’t wait to share more. But for now...

Here’s a behind the scenes peek into her shoot and a good time with some of her faves on the playlist.
