A little about my photography work:

��Be aware—my photography is not kitschy and trendy!��

BUT...here’s what it IS. When I was a teen I was fascinated by two painted portraits which hung in the grand home of a friend: one of her mother and her as a child, the other was of her grandmother. Every time I went to that home to visit my friend, I found myself engrossed in the subjects’ eyes. As I

studied, I fell deeper and deeper into the play of the light and shadow, and the intricate features of their faces. I work to convey movement, I work to capture the person in a living breathing way. I work to use an environment that naturally enhances rather than shadows the subject. The photographs I provide my clients are classic and will not be outdated in a couple of years. With my work you will not have over processed filters and photoshop brushes. That’s fun and everything, and certainly—these types of shoots have their place—but they are just not me. I take my work seriously, I fret and fuss over it. I work diligently to study my craft, and study The Masters, and I work to provide my clients with classic timeless photographs that they will treasure forever. If you want brushes and noticeable photoshop influence, you may want to look elsewhere. If you’re wanting something closer to art, something that can be hung on a wall for ages to come,

What could be better than Jessi Battle on the beach! That’s one of my favorite parts of senior sessions—not just taking beautiful photos, but watching confidence bloom right in front of my camera.

I’ve called Kerrville home for most of my life, and I can’t count the number of memories I’ve made along the Guadalupe River. So seeing Lupe, our beloved Guadalupe bass sculpture in Louise Hays Park, still standing after surviving not one, but two major floods, means something different now.

What was once simply a beautiful piece of public art has become a quiet reminder that even after the waters rise, hope remains.

Scripture says, “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you.” — Isaiah 43:2

That verse doesn’t promise we’ll avoid the flood. It promises we won’t face it alone.

For our community, Lupe has become more than a mosaic fish. She stands as a symbol of the resilience of Kerrville, the strength of the people who call this place home, and the faithfulness of God through every season. The river has shaped us, tested us, and blessed us. And by His grace, we continue to stand.

There are sessions that remind me why I first picked up a camera.

It is one of the greatest honors of my work to volunteer my photography for Mercy Gate, a ministry that walks alongside women as they find freedom from trafficking and discover the hope, healing, and restoration found in Jesus Christ.

Every woman who steps in front of my camera has a story. While those stories are theirs to tell—not mine to share—I have the privilege of witnessing something beautiful: confidence replacing shame, hope replacing fear, and the quiet strength that comes from knowing they are deeply loved and redeemed.

Mercy Gate doesn’t just help women find freedom. They also help restore families, working toward reunification with children when healing and restoration make that possible. It’s a picture of redemption that is both humbling and inspiring.

Photography has always been about more than creating beautiful images. Sometimes it’s about helping someone see what God has always seen: immeasurable worth, dignity, beauty, and purpose.

Thank you, Mercy Gate, for trusting me to serve in this small way. It is a privilege I never take for granted.
