Most couples don’t need better poses. They need a photographer who knows what to say.
A pose tells people where to stand.
A prompt gives them something to feel.
When couples tell me they’re awkward, I don’t immediately start posing them. I give them something to do and something to talk about.
Try these at your next session:
1. Walk hand-in-hand toward me and tell them about the moment you realized this was more than just a crush.
2. Sway together like you’re slow dancing and, without saying “I love you,” tell them how you feel about them.
3. Wrap your arms around them from behind and tell them something about them that nobody else notices.
4. Walk away from me together and tell them why you’d choose them all over again.
The magic isn’t in the pose.
It’s in the reaction.
Photographers: Save this for your next couples session and come back to let me know which prompt got the best response.
Couples: If reading these made you smile, imagine how your photos would feel. 🖤
