I need help organizing my artwork, photographing pieces, uploading items to my online store, and preparing social media posts.

Must be good at social media!!!!!! Must be organized, dependable, detail-oriented, and creative.

This can count toward service/internship hours, with potential for paid work later and commission on all my pieces sold.

A Manifesto:

Why I Don’t Like Photography as a Business

Let me be clear.
This does not mean I don’t believe in being paid for my work.
Working on commission is not the same thing as running a photography business.

I don’t like photography as a business because it asks me to spend as much—or more—time marketing myself as I do making the work, in an already oversaturated field.

Because I cannot focus on quality if I am constantly worried about quantity.

Because I refuse to farm out my work just to stay busy or appear successful.

Because turning social media into a required extension of my creativity drains inspiration instead of feeding it.

Because I am an artist. I see people as they are. I cannot wrap my head around reshaping them into what they think they want to be.

Because I don’t want to compete with people who know trends and algorithms better than they know themselves—while I work harder just to be seen.

Because I don’t want to be busy. I want to be wanted. Or recognized.

Because relevance in this industry often requires exhaustion, and I refuse to sacrifice my body or my sanity to stay visible.

Because photography as a business asks me to be a service provider, not an artist.

And finally—because I would rather make less money creating honest work than more money producing something hollow.

This is not a rejection of photography.
It’s a refusal to let a business model dictate my relationship to art.
