Of course, what family show would be complete without digging up some trauma?
I had the opportunity to play George Banks, and my dear wife was cast as Ms. Andrew, the nanny that turned George into the emotionally-stunted uptight over-wound mess that Mary Poppins had to come and rehab (in her practically perfect way). Yes, there were jokes; no, the irony was not lost at all.

But would it all have worked without the house staff? Mrs. Brill, Ellen and Robertson Ay could always be counted on to keep things running, to keep each other MOSTLY out of trouble, or to help destroy a family heirloom every show.

I cannot say that I recommend trying to shoot a show that you are in. It has... limitations. But how much fun was it to ...

It's a little late for National Love Your Pet Day, but it's still a good time to introduce everyone to Fiona and Reno. And yes, for my fellow Broadway nerds, we did name the cats after Sutton Foster characters. (We just may be counting down the days until the show in Charleston...)

Back in November I had the opportunity to deliver some supplies to when going to help cut and clear downed trees around the Asheville area. What an impressive operation, full of volunteers coming to help their community, either with donations or with their time to sort and organize so that people could find what they need. Everyone pictured here is a volunteer or a donor. Appalachian Community Relief, as you can see, is a source for people who need it to come get food, clothing, cleaning supplies, bedding, toys and books for their children, pet food, and there was even a donation of an entire suitcase full of reading glasses while I was there.

The operation is finally in the process of moving out of the Ingles Garden Center! An indoor, HEATED space has been secured and is being prepared, which also means that Amazon deliveries can be sent to support this work! There is a wishlist available so that you can donate any number of things, delivered to their new door, with just a couple of clicks! Visit their page for more details to show them some love for the exceptional, ongoing work that has been going strong for months now.

And please excuse the terrible Instagram cropping of these photos. It makes me cry a little, too.

Just a reminder: there is no off-season for getting pictures taken! And go vote.
