Found this sweet little guy yesterday enjoying some purple thistle. Thistle was flying everywhere as he was tearing into it. So fun to watch.

Headed up to Ludington a week ago with hopes of capturing waves crashing over the pier at Stearns Park. Met up with my friend Sarah (.captures) for dinner and then we headed down to the beach. These two shots capture the drama of the waves crashing into the pier. Always a thrilling sight to see and admittedly there was some giggling going on, we were perfectly safe where we were standing even though it looks like these waves could carry us away. And, I’m a chicken at heart. Zoom lenses are amazing!! And on that note, I did not notice it that evening while we were out there, but while editing one of my photos yesterday I zoomed into it to check something and was shocked to see there were two men out there….at the lighthouse…..fishing!! If you zoom into the photos you can see them! I have no idea how long they stayed out there and hope they made it back safe. I took so many photos that evening and could not decide on one so I’m posting two. I love that donut curl on the wave in the first photo and the way a few waves crashed into the pier in the second one. Hope you enjoy these images! I sure had fun taking them!

There’s something about the soft sky tones of pinks and blues that I just love. Not harsh, just peaceful. It brings a sense of calm to the soul. This photo was taken Saturday evening just easing into blue hour after capturing an amazing sunset sky. I looked over to notice this lone sailboat anchored offshore just resting on the calm waters of Lake Michigan. I hope you have a peaceful day as well.

Had a great time last night in Muskegon with
SG Captures. Dinner out, sunset shooting and then fireworks!! Caught off guard a tad as we planned on shooting in Grand Haven so I only brought my wider angle lenses. Did not want to carry around my bigger lenses because of the weight and the heat so left them at home. Hence, my photos are not very close up shots. But, had a fabulous time and the fireworks were amazing!! Hope you all enjoyed a wonderful 250th Birthday Celebration of our beautiful country!

I purchased this cute little metal birdhouse last year as a decorative element for my yard never intending for it to be actually used. Well a couple of bluebirds decided to take up residency this year. It is just so cute!! This is mama bluebird bringing a fresh meal to one of her babies. If you look closely or zoom into the photo you can see the open mouth of the baby bluebird inside of the birdhouse. Having so much fun watching this!

A series of 5 photos I took yesterday of some hollyhocks in my yard. I was playing around with the multiple exposure setting in my camera and these photos are a few of the results. I like the dreamy look and soft textures that were created. Hope you enjoy and have a great day!
