Another new framed piece, for sale, at this weekend's Downtown Edinboro Art and Music Festival. From a 1949 Chevy pickup, that still runs.

Reminding everyone that this weekend is the Downtown Edinboro Art and Music Festival. I have a framed piece of the attached abstract photo, titled “3 Amigos,” that’s looking for a new home. It’s shaping up to be a nice weekend, so consider traveling to Edinboro, check out my booth, and enjoy the music.

Looking for something to do this weekend, consider attending the Downtown Edinboro Art and Music Festival. Unlike past years when the festival was held at Goodell Gardens, this year the festival will be held in downtown Edinboro. My new framed work for this year is a little heavy on New Mexico.

A trail Jane and I frequently walk has no shortage of Jack-in-the-Pulpits growing within 5 feet of the trail’s edge. Wednesday afternoon, we broke out the rain gear and photographed one of the easier clumps to get into a position from which I could extricate myself. Recognize them, Mary?

I haven’t opened Facebook for at least a week, I just hate spending time in front of a screen this time of the year, too many competing interests! As posted earlier this month we visited D.C. to see the cherry blossoms and although they were beautiful, we missed the peak. Maybe the most colorful trees were those around the Washington Monument that had recently “captured” some kites.

Another empty shoe photo, but this one, in my opinion, has some depth. These shoes were resting on the steps of the Jefferson Memorial and are positioned as I saw them.

Despite the sharp wind, spring arrived today. On State Gamelands 69 I today saw these (Hepatica), plus Spring Beauty, Toothwort and one lonely Trout Lily. Photo from the archives.

Please read Jefferson’s quote first and carefully’ then take a hard look at the blossoms and Memorial photo. What are we willing to part with in order to move forward and who decides what is forward?

If you are below the age of 70, you have an excuse if you can’t answer the following question: “who was Fanne Foxe a.k.a. The Tidal Basin Bombshell?” I’m pretty sure this shoe didn’t belong to Fanne, I’m guessing she only wore stilettos. And you’re really good if you can name her boyfriend!

On the return from our daughter’s, we took a side trip to the Manassas Battlefield to look for blooming Redbud. We did find some Redbud but came away with only a couple of shots and they weren’t worth a nickel. The foggy, moody conditions however, made the Henry House an interesting composition. I got off a few shots before the occupants, of the day’s first tour bus, covered the grounds.
