Photographing wildlife can be frustrating…. What you (mostly) see here on my page are my successes.

Today I was lucky enough to witness the Bluebirds in my nest box Fledge. We have had dozens and dozens fledge over the years, but this is only the 2nd time in my life to be so lucky to have a Camera in my hands.

Initially the youngsters flew from the box to a small tree that was closest to it. After a couple of minutes, one decided to go back…. Kinda…. His eyes must have deceived him, as he flew to the larger Wood Duck House above it.

After blowing the video of the last one exiting, I thought this might be the chance at redemption for an epic shot, as he left again for the big open world…

My camera will take dozens of Frames per second, and will react within a fraction of one, when I depress the shutter. It will completely fill a memory card within a minute or two, so I “hoped” my reflexes would be fast enough to catch this.

After waiting nearly 15 minutes, and a few false starts…. Yep, I MISSED it… save a few tail feathers and wingtips.

Enclosed are 3 unedited photos that I transferred directly from my camera. I loved the experience, but a bit bummed over the outcome…

My Mothers Little House Wren...

Though she is no longer here, this is one of my Moms favorite birds. These are returning to our yard once again, along with all the other varieties that share our place. This is one of my truly favorite times of the year!! I know somewhere, Mom and Dad have a huge smile on their face 🙂
