I was extra excited to get to work with this charming Lindsborg senior, as she is basically family- cousin to my two oldest kids on their dad's side! Despite only living 15 minutes away for many years, we've only seen Autumn a handful of times, so I loved getting to spend more time with her, her goofy dad (I still call him my cousin) and getting to meet her stepmom! Zaya even dropped by the studio to see her and I convinced her jump in one image with her. ^_^ Thank you, J, for bringing your beautiful "little girl" to me and allowing me to capture this pivotal time in her life!

I am LOVING the Monarch migration going on right now (except when I'm driving on the highway- then I'm cringing and praying not to hit very many!) Working with Miss Cali last week gave me the idea of taking advantage of all of the beautiful butterflies taking over Kansas right now. I'm tossing around the idea of doing a mini session very soon that will showcase flowers, butterflies and the golden light of the setting sun. And, of course, you. Or your little ones. Or your senior girl. Stay tuned for a date and more details! And if you know of any excellent public locations where you've seen butterflies in abundance, let me know- I'll be out scouting!

Usually I really only share my senior work, but I'm going to start sharing more of what I've done and the adorable Kaetin is the perfect place to start! Her grandma saw my door ad on Main St and loved my daughter's picture with the floral crown she was wearing in the ad (see my profile picture) and decided to schedule a session. She brought dress up clothes and, between what she had and what I had, we got her dressed up and shot for a couple of hours-WELL past what most 6 year olds will tolerate-including at in her grandma's gorgeous bathroom and backyard. We had to improvise and use clamps on the adult-sized black dress she was wearing for most of the session under her jackets and tulle skirts, but what I couldn't hide with posing, I fixed in photoshop and these images turned out beautifully! Grandma ended up with prints, a gorgeous album and two canvases and just called last week to order two more canvases because she just needed more of this little beauty on her walls! ^_^ It makes me SO happy to see my clients so happy!

I've waited TOO long to show off these images of lovely MHS senior, Amanda! Between a first-day-of-school session where we almost melted at the pool and what felt like a 3 mile hike to the Cottonwood waterfall, our sessions were adventures that netted these beautiful images that I love with all my heart! ^_^

It's time to get serious about sharing my work and my amazing clients with everyone! I'll admit, I tend to shy away from posting my work and I'm not sure why. Some days I'm braver than others, I guess! lol!

Today, I'm going to share some of what I've been up to for awhile...starting with my handsome little cousin, Tanner (some of these include his mama- those were more family pictures, but I'm sharing a few of them!) Tanner is a senior at Canton-Galva and it's so hard to believe he's this old. What a beautiful kid (inside and out) he ended up being! Much love to you, kiddo- you're a joy to be related to!

Ladies and Gentlemen.. if we're friends on my personal page, you've heard me mention this model-status guy. He's my trainer and friend, Mr. Adrian Hill! Able to roundhouse kick a bottle off of tall exercise equipment, works almost around the clock at his day job and his gym, is hilariously talented with Snapchat filters and tries to kill me 4 mornings a week, Adrian was my first client to shoot with me in my new studio a couple of weeks ago! I'm so excited to share my favorite images from the session! I don't have the studio set up all the way yet, so excuse the carpet and lack of anything but a brick background! lol! That will change soon!

Regal. Queenly. Those are the first two words that came to mind when I first saw this senior beauty. If you follow me on snapchat, I already said this there! Her demeanor and posing were nothing less than poised and very much like her appearance and I'm so looking forward to working with her again! Omg, I loved this session with the handsome Malik! He killed it in front of the camera and I can't wait to work with him again! My lovely daughter,Zaya, is now my assistant (until she gets too busy with school, work and cheer,) so I threw her in a picture with him toward the end! lol! Two beautiful model faces!

Congrats to all my 2016 seniors!! All of you have graduated now, as of a little while ago, and I want to leave you with my words from my senior post last year:

As these last busy high school days slide into the past and become memories, these are images these sweet seniors will reminisce over and share with their families, friends, and eventually, offspring. They will wistfully laugh at how much like children they still thought, yet still feel the pangs of fear and exhilaration at the thought of becoming adults like it was only yesterday.They will fondly recount the chances they took and regret the chances they didn't. They will truly realize, like their parents do now, that time has a way of sneaking life past them as they wait for it to begin. And, just like that, their own children will be seniors. And then parents. And their children will begin to realize the very same things. At the risk of sounding like Disney, it truly is a circle of life. These beautiful faces will go on to do and have already done amazing things. You are standing on the edge of the rest of your lives, ready to jump off and land where you may. Thank you, every one of you (and your parents) for allowing me the privilege of capturing just a few of these fleeting moments at such a pivotal time in your lives. I'm so excited to watch you all continue to grow into who you were born to be!

Spread those wings...it's time.
