OK, the foreign item comes to the US, and the US buyer pays the tariff and passes the cost on to the US consumer...but...where does that tariff money go? It goes into the coffers of the US government. Is it used to help the needy, or the farmers, or medical researchers, or improve the country's infrastructures? No, trump uses it to pay ICE agents, build detention camps, and go on expensive golfing trips! Follow the money.....
