The results are in for the International Pet Photographer Competition of 2026.
It wasn't my finest year but I did try new things that I hadn't before in edits and places for sessions. Bronze rating is still a great result to achieve and I am thankful for the feedback I get on every image.
When you enter competitions its all based on the judge's perspective. Something you shoot or how you edit might not be their cup of tea, which doesn't mean the image is bad just maybe a tweak here and there is all it needed. All images are still amazing images that clients love and are proud to hang on their walls, just in competitions you have to really look into that fine detail that can elevate an image from professional standard, to Bronze, Silver and even Gold.
I love entering in the IPPC due to the valuable feedback from amazing fellow pet photographers across the world on how I can elevate my standard of photography. I know many feel that pet photography is a luxury or I am out of their price range, yes, I probably am and it is a luxury like any photography is, but the time I take to learn how to enhance my posing, continue to capture your pet's personality in a safe and fun way, and the hours of learning new editing techniques to bring you an award winning image for your wall makes it a priceless memory for you.
I cannot wait to bring amazing, bold images to your walls that really showcase the PNW and your pet out in nature, around their home or in their final moments. Contact me today to set up a session and maybe next year, your pup will be entered into the IPPC.
