Lead Ropes and Leashes Photography Professional imagery of your pets, equine, family and newborns in the Pacific Northwest Hallo! I am Tiffany Meyer of Lead Ropes and Leashes Photography!

I am happy that you are visiting my page. I have always had a love for animals, people and photography so why not do both at the same time! Animals have always been a part of my life since I was young with having cats, working around my grandparent's farm and riding horses around the countryside in Montana. I went to school at Utah State University earning a Bachelor of Science degree in

Agricultural Education and a minor in Animal Science. Becoming a military wife and having to move around, I needed to find a way to stay in my field I love. Animal photography was the perfect place for me because I can now give you lasting memories of our family members that we do not get the honor to have in our lives for the years we wish we could have them. Even though animals are my love and main focus I love to capture the milestone and love families show each other and their fur members. I welcome all ages in front of my camera and I hope to see you at my home studio or in nature capturing the beautiful countryside of Europe.

I recently saw a post on one of my local base pages from looking for vendors for their Fast CAT events. I’ve never really done dog events like this before, but I thought—how fun would it be to set up a booth for dog portraits?

Unfortunately (but totally understandably), they were already full for photographers. But Shawna was kind enough to invite me out to a Thursday practice to give it a try—and of course I said yes. Why not? I’ve done action shots in sessions before… so this felt like the perfect chance to try something new and get some great practice in!

And wow—what a blast it was.

For those who may not know, Fast CAT (Fast Coursing Ability Test) is a timed 100-yard dash where dogs chase a lure (usually a plastic bag). Simple, fast, and SO much fun to watch.

Seeing all the different breeds take off down the course was incredible—from speedy sighthounds and Whippets to Bull Terriers and even tiny Papillons. Every single run had its own personality, and you could just feel how much the dogs loved it.

If you’ve ever been curious about how fast your dog really is, I highly recommend checking out a local Fast CAT club. Many also offer Lure Coursing and Coursing Ability Tests if you want to explore even more.

And if you’re here in Western Washington, definitely take a look at Serendipity Dog Events to get started!

Ok friends, I had four amazing sessions last week with amazing pups in areas here on base and around the area. We had a great week of beautiful weather here in Western Washington. For those local, that was the sun we saw last week, I know its never out but it does come out once in awhile. 😀

I guess I can only pick one image. I know, I know, not fair but all of these amazing images will still be used in the International Pet Photographers Competition later this year but I can only have one picked for this challenge. Cropping is weird because of social media.

Please like or love the picture you feel I should use for the Composition challenge. The rules of thirds had to be used so either they had to be in the left, right or their eyes need to be in the top third of the photo. So please help me choose because I love them all!

Thank you to Goober, Lufty, Cash, Deacon and Case for being amazing models! Your galleries will be coming today to your humans for their enjoyment.

**Days are booked for this week. Still show me your pups because I will open a few more days next week depending on kids' soccer schedule **

I entered into a photography challenge and I need your help! I need models!
The challenge runs April 3rd to April 17th. I need to photograph pups with using the rule of thirds in composition. I already do that in my photography but just wanted to let you know the challenge. So this means I can utilize some of our amazing landmarks around this area.
Are you up to helping me with this challenge? Comment below with an image of your pup(s) and a little about them. I am only selecting a few because it is a fast challenge. Weather looks great this next week, allowing availability for sessions Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Wednesday currently. I may open up more if I am in search of another location. Sessions will be around Golden Hour depending on location. I am available to drive you and your pup to locations that are further than 30 minutes away.

Locations I would like to capture are:
-Owens Beach
-Around Mt. Si
-Around Mt. Rainer (need to find out what is open and allows pets)
-Around JBLM using the buildings Lewis side has to offer
-Or if you know of a place that can an epic photo around the area (urban areas are a great too!)

What do you get?
-High resolution images of any image I use for the challenge or future competitions
-In front of the lens of an award winning international pet photographer
-Last memories of your pet(s) you can cherish forever!
- 50% off any of my packages if you would like additional images and product but it is not required to be a model.

No Myth & Facts post today and I'll probably only do them twice a month.

Do you have a myth or fact based on photography or pets/horses in general you would like to see posted?

Pet sessions are all about showcasing the love, devotion, and personality of your pet—but the truth is, all of those things exist because of you.

I know stepping in front of the camera can feel uncomfortable. As a photographer, I’m usually the one behind the lens too, so I completely understand that hesitation. But to your pet, you are their entire world. The way they look at you, trust you, and stay close to you—that connection is something truly special to capture.

During our pre-consultation, we’ll talk through the kinds of images you’re drawn to—whether that’s their playful personality, those soft, love-filled looks, or the quiet moments that show just how devoted they are to you. And the best part? You don’t have to feel like you’re “posing” or fully in front of the camera to be part of those memories.

Sometimes it’s as simple as your hands gently framing their face, them sitting between your legs, resting on your shoulder, or being held close in your arms. These subtle, natural moments often end up being the most meaningful.

There are so many beautiful ways to tell your story—together.

Let’s plan how to capture your pet and your connection.

There’s something about the rain here in the Pacific Northwest that always takes me back to photographing in Scotland… moody skies, soft light, and that fresh, earthy smell in the air.

And honestly? It’s magic. ✨

Some of the most beautiful, soulful images happen when we embrace the drizzle instead of running from it. Pups shaking off raindrops, noses lifted to the sky, fur just a little damp—they’re in their element, and it shows.

You don’t need perfect sunshine for perfect photos.
You just need a dog who loves the adventure… and maybe doesn’t mind getting a little wet. 🐾🌧️

Would your pup be team “let’s splash in every puddle” or “absolutely not, human”? 👇

I know many love to see those beautiful back lit poses of their pets. That Golden Hour is just gorgeous to showcase our amazing pets but what if I tell you being out in the not ideal weather can make some amazing epic photos too!

Come check out my Myth vs Fact for today. If you have a pup that loves the outdoors in any time of weather, don't hesitate to reach out for a pre-consultation call to discuss a pet session because here in Western Washington, the weather changes faster than a dog chasing a squirrel—sun, rain, sun, rain… all in one walk!

Not every dog is a social butterfly—and that’s completely okay. 🐾

One thing I hear often is, “My dog is too shy or reactive for a photo session.” But the truth is, many dogs just need a little extra space, patience, and understanding.

Pet sessions aren’t about forcing pets into uncomfortable situations. They’re about meeting them where they are and capturing the moments that make them who they are.

Let’s bust this myth. 👇

Hi fellow business friends and family!

I want to let you know of an amazing workshop that will be happening next week. If you are a business owner, starting a business or just overwhelmed working on your business this is a great place to start to get your foundations back so you are working on your business instead of in your business.

I started doing the daily focus sessions with Charlotte four times a week and because of them I feel less stressed when it comes to working on my business. I was always overwhelmed trying to do things because I would try to do it all at once. Charlotte will be here with other amazing speakers to help you understand the different areas of your business, to identify what actually deserves your attention and to focus on each pillar of a successful business. Its not lack of effort its just lack of clarity and structure. Another great thing is this is not photography specific this is for any and all business owners who feel like the business side is just a lot, this will help you structure it to give you the clarity and motivation to continue to grow!

This workshop is free so even better but if you upgrade to VIP you do get the replay, bonus session with more valuable content and the workbook. Click on the link to sign up for the free workshop and it is an affiliate link for me if you do upgrade to VIP.

Hope to you see there! https://cdp.myflodesk.com/0126tm/checkout
