It started with a conversation after church. "Hey Butch, are you still out fishing, did you grow up fishing with your dad like we did? Then I found out his father didn't particularly like fishing, but he loved his son. It was simply where they would spend time together. The empty chair is where his dad used to sit, his Bible is open to words they shared years ago, because he is still part of the story.
Many of you have a story hiding in plain sight, I'd love to hear about it.

Reaching for Childhood
Today, her mother saw this portrait for the first time.
That little tutu wasn't chosen for the photograph. It was her very first tutu — the beginning of a story that has followed her through the years.
I wanted to create something about more than dance. Something about looking back at the little girl she once was, while seeing the young lady she has become.
When Mom saw it today, her expression told me we had created exactly that.
Some photographs record what someone looks like.
The ones I love most preserve what a moment in their life meant.

Still in the Groove
Some stories are written in photographs.
In the lines of a face.
In the hands that have mastered a craft.
In the things we've carried with us through the years.
A meaningful portrait isn't about how we look today.
It's about how we deserve to be remembered.

There are places that seem to hold the stories of generations.

Inspired by the old stone arches and timeless character of San Antonio, I imagined a portrait that felt as though it could have belonged to another era—warm, elegant, and rooted in a sense of place.

Because the most meaningful portraits aren't really about how we look today.

They're about how the people we love will remember us tomorrow.

**Your family. Your story. Your legacy.**

Sometimes a portrait isn't really about what someone looks like.
It's about where they spent their time.
The things their hands knew how to do.
The chair they always sat in.
The work they loved.
And the way we will always remember them.
We photograph childhood because we know how quickly it passes. Perhaps we should think the same way about the people who gave us ours.
Tell me about someone you love.
I have an idea.

The lights celebrate the victory.
The crowd celebrates the champion.
But the verse around his waist reveals where his confidence began.

About Last Night.

Marco Antonio Solis at Payne Arena.

Even though he's been here several times, we still get to preserve the moments the audience will never get to experience the same way again. If you were there, share the image in the way he always acknowledges the crowd in appreciation. What an amazing show!

Where Dreams Begin
Mom: "I have a six-year-old little boy I'd like to have photographed."
Me: "Tell me about him."
Mom: "He loves trains. Can I bring some along?"
Me: "Absolutely... but I have an idea."
Most people think portrait photography is about documenting what someone looks like.
I've always believed it's about revealing how childhood feels.
When I heard "trains," I wasn't thinking about photographing a toy.
I was thinking about wonder.
So I created a room where imagination could come to life. A weathered window. A vintage locomotive. Steam filling the room as though the train had just awakened. And a little boy standing quietly, convinced that anything was possible.
After more than three decades behind the camera, I've learned that children rarely remember posing for a portrait.
They remember how they felt. Time is slipping away, capture it so that it is preserved for generations.

Some portraits capture a face.
The ones that matter capture a feeling.
A timeless portrait continues to tell its story—quietly, beautifully, for generations.
Because art should never have an expiration date.

✨ Let's create something your family will treasure forever.
